It's funny, I'd been noticing every time they cut to him he has both hands free, so wondered if he had abandoned marking the clues off on paper. Would make sense with the digital sheet that someone else off stage could do that part for him so one less thing to have to be doing at game speed. So if he really is using paper maybe he's putting the pencil down when the camera is cutting to him to reveal an answer, which seems like a weird choice, but shrug.
Many of those cuts have the feel of an edit, could be he doesn’t need crayon in hand at that moment.
Buck gets a lot of “hate” from sports fans, which sometimes comes with the territory of being the guy assigned the biggest games of the year in two different sports.
I think he will do fine as a Jeopardy host, personally.
I wonder how he got the job. The other guests are mostly all talk show hosts or interview people on TV for a living. Dr. Gupta and Bailik are exceptions, but he has been a medical expert on CNN giving commentary and she is an actress. What was it about Rodgers that caused Jeopardy to reach out to him?

Looks like Joe Buck is taking a turn.

I cannot -wait- for the Defector takes on this one. *starts making popcorn now*

Not a fan and even though I was not born in Missouri, he will have to "show me" this is a good choice. Joe Buck has demonstrated what he is like away from the sports mic on Brockmire and Celebrity Watch Party. He can cuss, make fun of himself and get emotional about reality TV.
With all the LeVarmania going on and not a word from the show, even announcing Joe Buck this week...just makes me wonder if he is the choice for the permanent gig.

(personal thoughts of mine: does not understand the "he" in this message)
George Stephanopoulous on July 12-16
Robin Roberts on July 19-23 LeVar Burton on July 26-30
David Faber on August 2-6
Joe Buck has the season finale week - August 9-13

I'm glad to hear LeVar got his wish, as J! clearly means a lot to him. He's not exactly young and scrappy anymore, but you can be sure he's not throwing away his shot.
I am totally fine if LeVar Burton doesn't get the job - perfectly good reasons to pick someone else (job performance and age being the biggest two) - but I could not understand why he wouldn't get a guest slot. Jeopardy: I am temporarily assuaged! Just make a good decision on the permanent host.
(I don't know Peter Faber but the others seem pretty straightforward - "only" three white men in this group is, I guess, an improvement )

But do you know David Faber?
This LeVar drama continues to dominate my Twitter feed. I want to hide all mentions of LeVar + Jeopardy but can't do that without hiding all mentions of LeVar and/or Jeopardy. Sigh.
I get people who are fans of LeVar for host, but trashing the lineup of other guest hosts is out of bounds imo.
