It's showing up in the Preview. Let's click Submit and see...

And, seriously no worries about the semi-duplicate post. I was just clowning around as usual. And now you're rewarding me by increasing my power. You should really think twice about all aspects of that decision.

Ummmm, what?
I'm glad you said it. I'm guessing some ancient inside joke that neither you nor I am getting.
Is it still an inside joke if I'm doing it for my own amusement?

Someone flagged my YouTube upload for a "privacy violation" (at seconds 4 and 8--the video is only 5 seconds long).

You are suspect No. 1.

Not me, man. That crosses the line from clowning around to outright douchebaggery. The Secret Bunker just had a couple of videos flagged for privacy violation as well. Hang on, looks like just one video but two separate flags--from 0 to 4 seconds and from 4 to 8 if I'm understanding the notice. Just like yours? Here's what it says:

The information reported as violating privacy is at 0_00, 0_04
The information reported as violating privacy is at 0_04, 0_08

In this case the video is of a full game from 12-17. So if they want to take it down, it's a fair cop and I've got no complaints. It has fulfilled its purpose. But it's weird that the Bunker got this notice at the same time you got yours and only on one video.

To be clear, I was joking.

OR WAS I

No, I was.

That's what my video got, too. Two privacy flags just like that.

I'm probably going to look like a fool just for asking but was the problem with the videos that the BBCode permission wasn't enabled for non-admins?

The $2000 clue in Crossword Clues asks for the longest river in Spain (4 letters) and gives Erbo as the response. A list of rivers in Spain sorted by length of river would have the Tagus at the top of the list and not the Erbo. I'm guessing they considered putting "the longest river entirely within Spain" but then decided that specifying 4 letters was enough. Is there another reason why they would put the Erbo?

I missed isotope and said liquid. When it said "basic substance" I thought of solid/liquid/gas/plasma instead of element.

One of the J6 clues yesterday asked for the location of Sudbury in Canada, the birthplace of Alex Trebek. Whoever we end up with as a host next will have a big legacy to live up to.

Robert K S wrote: Fri Jan 08, 2021 7:59 pm I went with "isomer" for Final. Turns out it's from the Greek for equal + share.
I couldn't decide between the two until I made the connection with "topography."
I bet the writers expected players to get it from Utopia, famously coined from the Greek for "no place". I would have thought that Greek for "equal" is less well known, except in certain fields like meteorology and economics.
I had the opposite thought: to me, the Greek for "equal" was the easier part. It comes up in words like isomer, isotope, isobar, isotherm, isohel, isosceles, isostatic, isoelectric.... that said, the lion's share of those are science words, and I am a scientist so I might be biased.
I agree that "iso" was easier, but with my science background, I also join your biased club. I honestly didn't double check "topos", because I was playing it off the database because I couldn't wait - I probably had enough time to figure it out, but as soon as "isotope" popped in, I wrote it down and would have gone brain dead for the rest of the time. But afterwards, I did come up with "topography", but never even thought of all those other cool words that come from "topos".

One thing about that last clue in DJ! - it seemed like it was heavily edited. They didn't give any opportunity for a rebound, IIRC. Perhaps they did, and then they just edited it out.

Yes. I'm sorry that, for whatever reason, I never saw that old post of yours. If you had quoted my post previous to yours I have have seen it as a notification and we could have had this fixed months ago. :(

"Jeopardy!" contains both commercials that are added by your local station and commercials that are added by the syndicator (the latter are called "barter") -- the syndicated commercials come between the end of the DJ! round and the bumper in the middle of that break. I didn't time out the breaks while I was watching, so I'm not sure exactly what got shortened in this episode.
From my viewing, it seemed like most of the time came from the closing credits. I watch it on WLS in Chicago where most days, they do a "picture-in-picture" news insert over the first part of the credits, then there are a couple of short barter commercials, and finally, the rest of the credits. Friday, no news insert, no barter spots, just a very short credit roll followed by the tribute. But I did not time the other breaks as I watched it live (normally, I watch it on TiVo and know how much to skip at each break (2:30, 2:30, 3:30).

As I said earlier, the timing from "This is Jeopardy!" to the end of the credits was 19'37". (Actually, that includes the Geico ad, so subtract 12 seconds if you like.) Completely standard length--longer than some episodes, shorter than others. Conclusion: No time was subtracted from the episode itself to make room for the tribute. At least, no more time than is usually subtracted to make this a completely standard length episode. Not from the credits. Not from the interviews. Nowhere. Nothing. The three commercial breaks were each half a minute shorter. That's where the time came from. At least that's where the time came from in my market. Maybe other people saw a shortened version of the game, but I doubt it.

I agree now. Went to my TiVo recording and likewise, in my market, the three commercial breaks were all 30 seconds shorter.

They cut the show-sponsor ads that come after the little inter-ad bumpers with the Jeopardy! title cards (and also cut the title cards). They didn't cut the "we'll be back right after Final Jeopardy!" bumper.

Ahhh, goodbye, old friend!

I’m so glad we got to see Alex as a clown in that final montage!

I regret not sending a card to the studio after he announced his illness. I know he was inundated with mail, but I’d like to believe he would have read it. I don’t know why I hesitated.
