Blue Jays fans still show up in force at their annual series in Seattle. At least it seems like Blue Jays fans outnumber Mariners fans, but maybe it's just that the Canadian fans are more boisterous. :)
We called it the "Surrey Effect." Surrey is to Vancouver what Kent is to Seattle (if Almost Live didn't lie to me).
Deep cut! :)

My sister-in-law is still watching Almost Live reruns.

It seems a bit strange to me that people in Vancouver are predominantly Jays fans rather than Mariners fans despite Seattle being 100 miles away and Toronto being over 2,000 miles away, just because of some essentially arbitrary line at the 49th parallel...

Is that any different than an arbitrary shirt deciding what players sportsball fans like and dislike? Boo..bad shirt.

It's TV. During the back to back World Series era, every Jays game was on TSN (our ESPN). I remember Mariners games being more difficult to find. Also, we'd get them 3 hours earlier since they came from Toronto, so you could rush home from school and watch the Jays while you ate dinner.
I eat chicken. That's what I do.

Saw Reggie Jackson play several times at Tiger Stadium during the 1970s and 1980s (in 1976, he was on the Orioles). During one of those games, Jackson hit a home run into the upper-deck center-field bleachers, where a friend and I were sitting. Tiger Stadium had two levels of bleachers, and a batter needed Jackson-esque power to reach the upper deck. Then again, Jackson homered off one of the light towers above right field in the 1971 All-Star game: https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sport ... t/87017296

Yeah, that required some power. Straightaway center was 440 feet if I recall correctly. That must have been worth your $1.50 or whatever it was they charged for a bleacher ticket in those days. :)
