Also, only 1 of those musicals has anything to do with "AL-W BS"...

I figured it out on the fly, and I'm glad individual institutions don't get "HBCU" attached to them; that would be like those pharmaceutical commercials where one woman talks about "my moderate to severe plaque psoriasis."

Never had any Hunger Games hunger.
Could not pull Carrara out of my brain.
I've seen the movie Cold Mountain, but not read the book. Still, no problem.
Wiesenthal was easy since I live in Southern California, home of the Simon Wiesenthal Center. I occasionally hear or read about events there.

Read The Hunger Games.
Haven't seen Phantom.
Watched all ten of Katie Couric's eps.
I would prefer not to.

Re: FJs for the 3/15/21 week
Another bad week for FJs -- now three in row. Yuck.
+1 for Alabaster.
Had Bull Moose with Socialist.
Have seen "Phantom" twice in touring productions, but Howard McGillan didn't ring any bells for either me or my wife.
Rejected Picasso as WAY too obvious, landed on Whistler.
Did not read "Cold Mountain," but saw the movie with Jude Law, Nicole Kidman, and Renee Zellweger.
Knew the Brahe Planetarium was in Copenhagen, though he also did a lot of work with Kepler in Prague. Learned a lot about Brahe (and his nose) from an episode of the original Sagan "Cosmos."
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

Exactly. Also thought it was Carrera, and also said Alabaster. So you're saying Alabaster is not an Italian city? Who knew.cinemaniax7 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 11:19 pm For some reason, I thought Carrara was spelled C-A-R-R-E-R-A. Perhaps it was because of Barbara Carrera, the sunglasses, or a combination of the two. So I guessed Alabaster too.
Seriously, I am so relieved to see I was not the only one to go down this particular rabbit hole.

Yes. In fact there is a statue of Brahe and Kepler near the Czech Foreign Ministry which nearly threw me off here.

Jude wouldn't let me. We didn't even get a group discount.

At least three of us were duped by the "e" middle vowel. I'm sure that it is the Porsche car model that I have seen in writing. And now we have sunglasses and actors to contaminate the spelling pool. I propose that the town in Italy should change their name.John Boy wrote: ↑Mon Mar 22, 2021 7:11 amcinemaniax7 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 11:19 pm For some reason, I thought Carrara was spelled C-A-R-R-E-R-A. Re: FJs for the 3/15/21 week
Read all three books, saw all 4 movies. So yeah - I knew that one.
Put me down for another alabaster. I'm not going to claim it as all that great a guess. I figured out the stone angle, but mis-read the clue and was naming stones instead of cities. The city and type of marble are familiar to me, but not familiar enough to make the connection in 30 seconds. Definitely not in the NHOI category for me.
Guessed Cats to put something down. Fairly sure I was wrong. I was proven correct.
As always, there are too few poll options. Figured out Bull Moose very quickly, but had no idea what other party to guess. So Bull Moose was part of my INcorrect response.

On Thursday I had a toss-up between Phantom and Cats.
I should have known that a tossed-up cat always lands on its feet, never on tails.
