Lizzie Borden took an ax
But didn't pay, not even tax.
And when security dared to mention,
She whacked the guy from loss prevention!

Aaron decided to go all in for giving the Russian composer's full name, but then threw in the towel for doing the same on the Salzburgian.

Once again Aaron worked in a, "Go Bears!" and by now sensitive fake Packer fans should know he means Cal Bears and not Chicago Bears.

Amy got needlessly clowned on by the host for spelling slightly off (on the first name) when in that particular case I don't think it warranted a mention.

I matched the gentlemen to get one right when I finished before the music began. In the last 8 games I have two correct and both were trigets by the players.

My precalls were Capone, Billy the Kid/Jesse James, and assassins. All wrong, but fine by me as I have paid my dues with viewing past TV projects starring Montgomery & Ricci.

Brandon is up to 7/7 on big clues. His Coryats are on a downward path, so tomorrow would be a good day to reverse the trend as lower than 15800 would not be very good for someone looking to possibly make a ToC.

I knew exactly who it was but couldn’t come up with her name. Even ran the poem through my mind. Oh well.

Yes, finally. Something like 38 games of 1 and 2xers.

I'm enjoying Aaron Rodgers a lot more than I expected to.
My lucky numbers are 6, 66, and 666.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart isn't much more of a mouthful, but maybe the card gave his baptismal name which was Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart. (Theophilus is Greek for lover of God and translates into Latin as Amadeus.)

Me to, sorta. Actually tonight I was pulling for Amy for one of the dumbest reasons I do anything. At the start of each game I write on my score sheet the names of all three contestants, and it's just way easier to write down "Amy Rey" than much longer names. So sue me.

LT on Kingsford (charcoal) and Piper (Cub) but that's all.

Brandon does indeed look strong. Wonder how long a streak he's going to tear off....

Easy FJ. What a dick to point out Lizzy instead of Lizzie. The somnolence-inducing Rodgers seems bored by contestants’ stories. Or maybe it’s nerves.

Parker was my precall, but was able to rule her out with the dates/location listed.

Amy, congrats for (finally) getting the chance to play! Sorry you ran into a solid champ, but it looked like you had fun nevertheless. :)

I confess to not knowing much about the Lizzie Borden story, so today's Final was a good wake up call for me. I didn't know the time-frame, the location, anything. I honestly thought Lizzie was much younger than 32 years old when she was thrust into the public eye. I said Parker as well knowing full well that 1897 was waaaay to early. Oh well.

I had an absolute blast!!! Even with my two dumb mistakes (I will be forever haunted by my Fight Club flub) and with Brandon and Sebastian much faster on the buzzer.
And I credit this group with helping on FJ - this is where I learned about pre-calling, and LizzIE was one of my 3 for the FJ category. So I started writing a few words into the clue!

If a woman on the wrong side of the law in New England in the 1890s comes up again are there any other legitimate options for the FJ! round when the category is NOTORIOUS? Nellie Bly would not fit the category and I can't find anything illegal Ma Barker did in her teens.

It almost seems to me that a non-author or non-suffragette woman in the 1890s is going to be Lizzie Borden. Marie Curie or Mata Hari aren't going to be in Rhode Island.

I had a brief thought of Susan B. Anthony as she was famously jailed for voting, so the shoplifting would be a much less famous arrest. But obviously the category NOTORIOUS points solidly away from that as a possible response.

Mozart in the middle of the column? Ran composers and science somehow. Capitals was a breeze if Edo is that overvalued.

the geography and American history ones need to be harder this season!
