Tue - Judges ; wisdom but no Solomon steered me away from his books
Thu - Spring best seller was more helpful
Fri - Beirut, having put Ankara in the middle of Turkey's eastern half, not the western half where it actually is

Tuesday -- I just picked a random Bible book. I think it was Isaiah.
Thursday -- I picked his first book, not his last
Friday -- Jerusalem

I thought this clue was poorly pinned.
  :|
I could've gotten this with more time.

Lemuel was enough on the Proverbs clue. The rest was bonus.
Last book of Dr. Seuss gave it to me. Spring bestseller, again, bonus.

Monday: Had Washington but total blank on the other.

Wednesday: Stalled out because "this" had me thinking it would be one word.

Friday: Should have gotten it, but I just couldn't get there in time.

Both halves of the Seuss clue were equally helpful, so I checked neither box.

Bill's reign has been terrible for me with just one get per week to avoid the box of shame.

The four misses this week were not close. I turned Monday into Constitution ratification and picked GW and TJ just as the most famous. I pretty much boycotted Tuesday because "virtuous woman" immediately triggered my misogyny reflex, and that could be up to 66 guesses. I picked Lorax because it came out after I outgrew Seuss books (well, stopped reading them anyway ;)). I was mulling around Bangladesh as a young capital, but don't know it (still).

Really, Mark, two opera clues in the extra questions :o . I can't blame Bill for that  .

"Wisdom" got me Proverbs.
I would have gotten Oh, the Places You'll Go! off either hint with near-certainty; the two together were a lock. I voted for "climbs the bestseller list" because that clinched it and I think if the clue had been written the other way around I still would have been sure even without the "last book" hint.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

Minor faceplant on Friday when I ruled out Turkey without giving it much consideration; I said Jerusalem.

I named "wisdom" as the most helpful because it prevented me from being distracted by the Catholic Bible book of that name; I'd place that and the "virtuous woman" citation as equally helpful to me otherwise. Lemuel not so much.

I only chose "last book Dr. Seuss published" as being more helpful because it came earlier in the clue, so that I already had the correct response in mind by the time I got to the part about the perennial spring bestseller.

A very good week for me with a few good decisions. Last book and every Spring cemented my choice, mainland Asia pointed me to Turkey and wisdom caused me to think of Proverbs.

"Wisdom" was the key to Proverbs.
"Last Seuss book" was the key to going places. "Things that happen every spring" make me think of Ray Milland.

Knew Dalmatia was part of the former Yugoslavia, but didn't know which current republic it is in. I totally spaced out the 7-letter spec, and landed on the wrong one with Slovenia. D'oh. Guess I better not give Dave a hard time for Peru.
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.
