Moving right along on the David Frazee tapes, we have November 25, 1992, Susan Hodges vs. Tim Buthod vs. a woman named Marcia. The tape had both the intros and the first part of the contestant interviews cut off, so I'm afraid that's all we know of her, other than the time she got scared by a cow.

2 quick notes:

1. Look for a "No harm, no foul" in BIBLICAL PEOPLE for $1000. The clue is a thing worth knowing, as the names of those early Biblical women are very easy to confuse.
After years of childlessness, she conceived twins, Esau & Jacob
SpoilerShow
Who is Rebekah? Not Sarah, Rachel or Leah, although you should know those names too.
2. Clue of the game is the Daily Double at DEMOCRATS for $1000. Can you remember this detail from 25+ years ago?
As Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, he presided over the Clarence Thomas hearings
SpoilerShow
Who is Joe Biden? Yeah, I didn't remember either.
Have a great Tuesday.

Instaget, but wouldn't have been a few weeks ago. He recently apologized for his treatment of Anita Hill in the hearings.

And the name is Marcia Begerod, from New York (State) -- nothing else at this time. 8-)

See if you can get all three:
THE OSCARS

1 of only 3 movies to be nominated for both Best Picture & Best Foreign Language Film in the same year
My response would have been the last one. If pressed to guess others, I might have guessed the other response not given.
I would have guessed
SpoilerShow
Z
but I think this would have been significantly easier at the time (due to recency).
2012's Amour is a subsequent addition to the group.
Not many people can say they've lost four times on Jeopardy!.

Our Anonymous Benefactor (who has been very generous to us) has inquired about whether the 10/11/94 show might be available. Any help would be appreciated.

The name "Begerod" doesn't exist. Might it have been "Belgorod" or "Bergeron"?

The Tim Buthod vs. Laurie Chambliss vs. Bill Lipscomb game from Nov, 1992 is a skeleton so I couldn’t enter a correction through the game. My daughter noticed the date is wrong - it’s entered as Nov 25 but should be the 26th.

Sorry, I know I don't have the 10/11/94 game.

I think I've mention this a long time ago, but Tim Buthod was
SpoilerShow
the highest one-day winner for Season 9.

Myron, do you or anybody know what the runner-up prizes were in that episode we just archived? Either that or the end credits would tell us what the runner-up prizes were in the November 25, 1992 episode.

I assume somebody knows. I bet Marcia Begerod does.

I filled in 1/15/02 with a an appropriate category for this weekend of SAME BIRTHDAY AS DR. KING: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=1181

The links should all work.

Jason spent time in the red, but got his act together in the DJ! round: http://www.j-archive.com/showscores.php?game_id=1181

There is no way of knowing how much money (for all we know it could be six figures) Jason may have cost himself when he got clue 23 of the DJ! round right and then switched categories. Sure enough DD3 was right there waiting in the next box down which Nanette later found.

After Jason's incorrect response Alex said this:

You just cost me a dollar, by the way, but you cost yourself $3,000, and you cost yourself a victory.

Did Alex have a side bet with someone that no way anyone could miss the FJ! clue? That no way Nanette could win because she would not risk her second place money? Something else?

This is a pretty hard no.

In fact, widescale data scrapes found elsewhere on the Internet are generally against the Archive's terms of service, as it were (and eventually find them removed), as we feel we're in the incredibly good graces of Sony in terms of allowing the data to stay up. If the data could end up everywhere, then it could very well jeopardize the entire effort.

So you're saying the zone we're in is one of danger?

Looks like we're going to need the notebook's info to get info regarding our challengers?

Alex mentioned the players’ last names, home towns, and jobs during the chat.

As a bonus, the runners-up’s prizes are also given.

That's the first time I've seen S and apostrophe-S correctly added to a word to make it plural and possessive. Well done!
