Just for fun here's a list of the "Archive Milestone" (x000) games:

8000 - A "new old game" (February 20, 1985); the milestone was reached on May 28, 2023
7000 - A "new old game" (March 10, 1995); the milestone was reached on the third weekend of April 2021 (the game was not fully entered until July 29, 2023)
6000 - reached with the June 6, 2018 game
5000 - A "new old game" (January 12, 1989); the milestone was reached in late July 2015
4000 - reached with the October 26, 2012 game
3000 - reached with the May 5, 2009 game
2000 - A "new old game" (December 27, 1999); the milestone was reached sometime during the 2007 summer hiatus
1000 - A "new old game" (albeit one that I believe was airing on GSN at the time it was entered - October 12, 2001); the milestone was reached in early June 2006

Edited: #7,000 is complete

I thought I'd also do the multiple-of-2,500 games and contestants not covered in the thousands list:

Game 7500 - reached with the November 6, 2022 primetime Celebrity Jeopardy! game
Game 2500 - reached with the June 2, 2008 game

Player 12500 - J.B. Evans (one-and-done on January 31, 2019)
Player 7500 - Adam Perrotta (one-and-done on October 7, 2011)
Player 2500 - Cathy Friedman (one-and-done from a "new old game" that originally aired on December 24, 1997; milestone reached during [likely near the end of] the 2006 summer hiatus)

Edited: Technical change of J-Archive links to https instead of http (note revised after previous two posts were edited for other reasons)

I thought DOUBLE LETTERS for $400 was a brilliant clue: pigments and light have two primary colors in common, and the ones that are in one category and not the other both have a double letter, so you better know which is which.

Here's some trivia from the "milestone contestants" I entered: Two of them, at some point in their J! careers, pulled justifiable Clavins that paid off. Which contestants, and which games, am I talking about?

Also can help if you remember that one type of component cables on a TV set are called RGB cables.

Eric Newhouse (in his first 1998 Teen Reunion game) and Jon Stewart (a celebrity episode where he was playing for charity) both pulled the justifiable Clavins that GoodStrategy was referring to.

My tape did not have the introductions, so it was nice that Stuart & John were already in the Archive. For Elizabeth, Alex gave her name during chat time and she named the bookstore she owned with her husband to make it easy to research her name. It’s possible she could have been introduced with a hyphen for her last name? All indications point to her being from California and I am not sensing one of those “originally from” introductions, so I gave her California on her bio page.

While working on a game to input tomorrow (John Hawekotte's next game), John mentioned he was working on a screenplay. Curious about it I put his name into Google and turned this up: http://www.hawekotte.com/our-team

The line that caught my eye?

An avid reader and learner, John is a five-time Jeopardy! champion and enjoys participating in local trivia competitions.

I think the resume is a bit padded. ;)

Is it possible that he also won three games on one of the Art Fleming versions? That was the explanation for why Perry Barber (who also lost to Jeff Richmond :!:) is still able to call herself a champion, as was talked about way upthread.

Here's something neat I found on the internet a while ago: A publicity photo from that ep. Notice how the first round values are up on the board and that there different categories than the ones that were actually used.

My tape did not have the introductions so I used what I heard during the chats. Alex called Willie William, so I don’t know if Willian was shown at the opening or not. Jean talked writing a book that sold 200 copies about how to start and operate a word processing business. Alex said she came from the contestant search in Davenport so I gave her Iowa for her state.
If John is indeed a 5-time J! champ as he has posted on an online bio page then he has 3 wins from the Fleming version as he loses his next game against Jeff Richmond.

Ah, thanks for checking, I was going to do that and forgot. The first clue of the game became no longer true in 1998.
