Her penultimate blog post was in May and was on the subject of fear, and in the final paragraphs she mentioned getting a scary diagnosis over six years ago and how she decided to live with it, but she said nothing more specific than that.

Jonathan seemed visibly frustrated with himself during the easy FJ for giving up the lead with his DD wager on the previous clue. Lori surprised him by getting FJ wrong.

Alex trying the WOF opening sound had me guessing what to call it, but the audience participation was great on the category intro.

Tried my best to keep Alec and Alex straight while archiving though my fingers did not like typing Alec.

The game was a mess in spots, but by the end it made it to respectability.

My list shows 2/23/90 still to archive. At some undetermined point in time. I did this one first just because 1988 is earlier.

Wasn't sure which thread to post this in, so I picked this one. I noticed something interesting thanks to a J-Archive search yesterday. BP Trivia had this question last night:
Described on the Nobel Prize website as a "master of the contemporary short story," what Canadian author of short story collections including "Dance of the Happy Shades" (1968), "The Love of a Good Woman" (1998), and "Runaway" (2004) won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2013?
I knew it wasn't Margaret Atwood, but I still whiffed it. After submitting, I hit the Archive to see how often she shows up, and discovered she appeared in 6 significant clues, mentioning 6 completely different titles!
#7967, aired 2019-04-09 A SHORT STORY CATEGORY $800: Alice Munro set many stories like "Royal Beatings" in small towns in this country
#7216, aired 2016-01-18 PLANETARY BOOKSTORE $2000: "The Moons of Jupiter" is a short story collection by this Canadian female author of "Lives of Girls & Women"
#6912, aired 2014-10-07 SHORT STORIES $2000: The Kristen Wiig movie "Hateship Loveship" is based on a story with 2 more "ships" in the title by this Canadian woman
#6711, aired 2013-11-18 SHORT STORIES $1600: "Dance of the Happy Shades" is the title story of the first book by this Canadian woman who won a 2013 Nobel Prize
#4446, aired 2003-12-29 WOMEN AUTHORS $2000: Her stories, in collections like "Friend of My Youth", often concern women of small-town Canada
#3372, aired 1999-04-13 OXYMORONS $1000: Shh! A 1994 short story collection by Alice Munro is titled "Open" these
I thought that was interesting.

When Alex says "of the season", he means "of the new year"?

I think Alex meant it as the first 5-time champion to be the first automatic qualifier for their next ToC.

It was Jim Morgan who had retired the previous day.

Thanks to the heads up that the Drive had a couple of games added, I filled in the rest of 1/28/87: https://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=4246

It's always nice to be able to erase one of those "first segment only" markers on a game.

DD2 was a real toughie though I guess perhaps easier back in 1987? TV NOSTALGIA kicked my tail in only getting 2.5 right as I was too slow to dredge up the full Brennan title. $1000 & $600 were the easiest of the five.

Can we get a picture of the shirt in DD2?

Got the bottom three in TV, never heard of the $400 show.

It was Alex live holding the shirt (not a monitor still image) although only a tiny part of Alex's suit sleeve was visible throughout the display.

Thank you, kind sir. Alex had props ready for clues a number of times in the old days.

Here Come the Brides was from the late 1960s and made a teen heartthrob out of Bobby Sherman.

I only remember seeing the show in reruns at age 8 on WSFA-12 (Montgomery AL) and concluding it didn't make any sense.
