According to this website, Burns Cameron also played in this Seniors Tournament.

Charmion Burns and Ross Cameron, that is! :D

I added 7/9/90: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=6092 to give the 1990 Seniors Tournament its first representation in the Archive.

I added 7/11/94: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=6094 to give the 1994 Seniors Tournament its first representation in the Archive.

Penny sounded like a live-action version of Patty or Selma Bouvier.

Joe had NYT crossword puzzles published and participated at the ACPT: https://www.crosswordtournament.com/200 ... lonick.htm

I found an obit for a Joseph Clonick with a death date of 3/31/18 that is very likely him although I could not find a picture to go with it or enough details to confirm it. If he is the same Joseph Clonick then he gave generously enough to Oberlin to have things with his name on them. During the chat with Alex, Joe mentioned he had written a musical based on Dickens’ A Christmas Carol that had a short run.

Another thing to add to the J! checklist when going on: Have a sense of countries and their places in hemispheres. The FJ! round responses were head shaking.

Oberlin Clonick looks like Jeopardy Clonick, and they're both musicians from Chicago. (Scroll down the page.)

Oh, and now that I've actually read it, there's the J! reference. Cool guy.

Crossword Clonick managed to work his name into the NYT Crossword. (Again, halfway down the page.)

The FJ responses may have just been a case of not RTFA rather than not knowing where they are.

Certainly possible and I'm sure social media would have been sympathetic to the players if this game aired in 2018.

Myron, thanks for the research on Mr. Clonick. I've added the death date to his Archive page. With three more chats with Alex to come he seems like the kind of contestant with good stories.

************
The game I will input tomorrow had a contestant story that she has seen every episode of The Brady Bunch. I like the relatable nugget while not being surprised she didn't make it to the semis.

Jeff-thecdboy wrote: Thu May 31, 2018 9:12 am I would like to make a few requests to the Archivists for some YouTube intro uploads (if possible) myself:

YOUTUBE INTRO UPLOADS
The intro to the May 1988 Seniors Tournament
The intro to the Feb. 1989 Teen Tournament
The intro to the Nov. 1990 Tournament of Champions
The intro to the July 1992 Seniors Tournament
The intro to the July 1994 Seniors Tournament
I'm close to being ready to looking into this request. What is the time frame you have in mind? Just Johnny's opening before getting to the players? Alex's opening remarks? You need video or just a screen grab of the graphic displayed at the start for each tournament?

I watched the entire Brady Bunch series in just a couple weeks this past spring. No joke, I bought the entire series pack at Wal-Mart.

I added 5/1/95: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=6095 to give the 1995 College Championship its first representation in the Archive. Are there any tournaments or special weeks without at least one game archived?

This is going to be it for August and the summer pattern of many games over many days. The pace will be slower to get games in September – May while I’ll aim for at least one a month while going back to working on the Season 18 games not filled in.

The 1992 Seniors Tournament marked the swan song for director Dick Schneider, who had been working on the show from day 1 in 1984 (and the 1978 version). He was replaced by Kevin McCarthy, who is still in the director's role of the show over 25 years later.

http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/nytime ... d=96355512 - Sadly, Mr. Schneider died in 2007.

Some poking around led me to information indicating Mag was the daughter-in-law of the referee in the basketball game in Hoosiers. (The actual game, not in the movie).

Sorry I've been so out of the loop, Mark. I wish Kevin all the best in retirement, and all the best to his replacement in his new job.

On another note, the 1992 Seniors Tournament marked the last time the original 1984 theme was used; a few weeks later in season 9, the theme was redone with bongos added.
