When in 1994 was he on, and does anybody have his games available so we can add them to the archive? This just kind of tickled my fancy lately.

Per page 170 of this thread, Kevin Olmstead was a 2-day champ, May 25-26-27, 1994. Total winnings 25,901.

His a.tv.g-s updates are probably available deep in the recesses of Google Usenet Groups somewhere, but as far as I know, we do not have the tapes available for archiving at this time.

Thanks. January 13, 14, 17, & 18, if the FJ resource is to be believed.

Semi-related, one by one, my goto YouTube-downloading sites have been disappearing. I'm the tiniest bit concerned. I discovered quite a few of them now have restrictions on downloading "copyrighted music" too. I hope they don't go any further down that particular road.

I gave up on those sites (I was getting malware warnings on some of them). It's not as fast since it's real time, but using Windows' Game Capture feature works well.

I might just upload them to the Internet Archive to make it better.

I would suggest a homepage link on the J-Archive for the GOAT games "season", even if it's just temporary, to make things easy for people looking for it. I'd say keep the current FJ clue to be the syndicated show clue.

A post on Jeopardy’s Facebook page refers to Friday’s FJ as “Clue #190822”. The archive currently says it has 384,074 clues logged.

Obviously the archive has a counter for its clues, but why would the show have a count that is about half what is logged in the archive?

The 19 will refer to the year of the tape date. I assume the other 4 digits encode something similar.

KTRK-TV interviewed Doug Miller yesterday. He was a 3 day champ back in the 1st season. Does anyone know the specific airdates that he was on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14BIdpoaUls

The champ in his game we saw was named Bruce. Bruce Rhodewait won a game on April 19, 1985. The only other S1 Bruce currently listed is Bruce Fauman, but he was a five time champion, so it isn’t him.

So, I do believe it was 4/22/85, 4/23/85, 4/24/85 & 4/25/85 if I'm right. I could be wrong though.

Well, we don’t know how many games Rhodewait won or if that even is Rhodewait. But those dates do seem possible.

Bruce Rhodewalt (not Rhodewait) has put his first game on Vimeo; it looks to be the same guy as the champ in the clip of Doug Miller's first game. I also remember his face from Mark Richards's second J! practice game video (which he still hasn't reuploaded).

I filled in 3/28/02: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=1731

I should buy a Powerball ticket since there were only two media clues and under 10W.

The Archive clue count is 384,978. If any archivist works on a game prior to the Monday 2020 game then please mark that 385,000th clue.

Hammer: THE MANLY TITLE MOVIE ROLES $400 is top box material, right?

If these clues played for the 1/16/20 players Opus would not have had enough options for his poll. Credit to these 2002 players getting over 50 right.

It was only a matter of which player was going to fall for the nice trap at "K"2 $1200.

When it's nice for players to have been on before every error magnified through social media: Scott's error on the Eskimo slipper

***********
kablamfan: I'm aware of the batch you shared and will add them as time allows while also wanting to tackle the remaining S18 games as well.

http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=6357

Continuing on the first India Cooper tape, we've got January 13, 1992, Rachel Kranz vs. Robert Burgess vs. Liz MacGillicuddy-Lucas. Rachel was a writer who seems to have been much more successful as a co-writer/ghostwriter, and then late in her life as a poker player. She passed away in 2017.

We welcome Ross Martin to the J-Canon as a correct response. Can Mark name his most famous TV role? I couldn't. He has previously (which is to say later) appeared in clues asking for the name of his show and the name of his character.

Also new to the J-Canon is this term, from the clue I'll pick as clue of the game, a triple stumper at BUSINESS TALK for $1000:
A Green River ordinance is a local law that regulates or prohibits this type of selling
Spoiler
What is door-to-door? It comes from the town of Green River, Wyoming, which was the first city to enact such laws.
It looks like Final Jeopardy is still accurate today. Not 100% sure though.

The clue count sits at 384,999. Next clue in flips the odometer to 385,000.
