Isn't penmanship more for our benefit though? The judges can actually see how you move the pen so if you spell the correct response properly but the lectium displays it as 'Throatwarbler Mangrove' you're in the clear.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 6:47 pm I added 6/28/96: https://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=7134
Player pics of Steve Schwartzman & Paul Carlson who played Don Sloan:Paul’s FJ! clue response was a mess and he’s lucky it got by the judges. Don would have made the ToC if it did not pass muster.Spoiler
59R by the gentlemen with just the one TS. Don won the J! round easily, but Paul (sounds so much like Leszek), took care of business the rest of the way. Other than penmanship.Spoiler

The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

I can make out the right river. A 59R game is quite impressive. I think Steve misunderstood the one TS and he led the others astray as they stayed clam.

Paul's response was messy, but I agree with the decision of the judges to accept it. Yes, we can see the river's name there. I don't know if the technology to see exactly what the players were writing down to the pen stroke goes back to 1996 or not.

I did not even spoil myself with the clue or category and was able to make out the response. If I'm able to read it as the correct response without trying to make it match to what I know is the correct response probably a good sign it's kosher.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 8:44 pm Paul's response was messy, but I agree with the decision of the judges to accept it. I added 7/3/96: https://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=7135
Player pics of Carol Ann Krug & Don Lembeck who played Paul Carlson:
Very much outdated clue:
J7- It's the only Michigan city whose population exceeds 1 million
Paul was 3/3 on DDs and did not put the game away. He paid the price by missing the TOC at the minimum. Paul could have also won by solving a not difficult clue as well.
Carol Ann figured out what to be at as far as Paul's finishing point on a standard bet while Don could have won as Carol Ann did not cover the possible 11800.
Good game with 58R and no TS in the DJ! round with only one incorrect response keeping that DJ! round from a perfecto.
Another game with Alex showing an item for a video DD.

Considering how and when the population declined, it may have been outdated the day it aired.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 2:25 pm Very much outdated clue:

A clean sweep of the spelling category by the players. Thank you, as usually that kind of category is an archiving nightmare.

Thanks. I forgot I had video access to it. Nice screen shot, he looks quite dapper. I guessed derby not being able to see it in the archive.

Any plans to finish this one soon? That way we'll get the complete first 12 weeks of Season 12 (no pun intended) archived.MinnesotaMyron wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 6:44 pmI'd like to call dibs on this one if nobody minds.jeopardyfan87 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 2:34 pm After searching for a long time, the 9/8/95 episode has been uploaded:

I don't know how gettable that Final would have been considered in 1996 but it was eminently gettable in 2021MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 6:38 pm I added 7/5/96: https://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=7136

Re: New old games in the J! Archive
Small sample from the game with it going 33% and I have no idea if the misses had 50% or 0%. My scoresheet indicates I had it right back then. That was not the clue Carol Ann needed, but at least she bet for the win.Robert K S wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 8:37 pmI don't know how gettable that Final would have been considered in 1996 but it was eminently gettable in 2021MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 6:38 pm I added 7/5/96: https://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=7136
This week it's been a handful of potential TOCers from S12 that could not quite close the deal.

Oh, the 7/5 game? My bad. Somehow I processed that you were commenting on the Sports FJ! clue from 7/8 that I shared. Okay, too much J! for one day. Back tomorrow with the next 1996 game I have to enter.Robert K S wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 9:31 pmNot sure what you mean... it was 2/3 right...MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 8:47 pm Small sample from the game with it going 33% and I have no idea if the misses had 50% or 0%.

Yes, the miss of the gentlemen would have been a poll choice and whether 1996 or 2021 I would not have to check it, fortunately.

Got 9/16/96 off the GD, thanks. That's the last one?
