When was the first episode where the category names were CG instead of a camera pan of the board?
That would be September 2, 1991, the same time the grid set premiered and so as the total winnings display changed to ITC Korrina. It'd also be the first time the show ever used the Swiss 911 font.
I don't think you understood the question. The category names were still revealed while the camera panned across the top of the board into the 21st century.

The five Netflix games whose clues are not in J! Archive will be added as soon as possible.

I added 5/20/87 (Seniors SF3): http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=6343

MUSICALS INTROS went unplayed and later appeared in this game: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=5373

It’s probably half the total, but in the last five years it feels like I have entered a dozen NURSERY RHYME categories.

"He won 2 years in a row" was all I needed to solve FJ.

And the date of the episode.

That's impressive. I couldn't get it off that and had to check what the category was.

Nicholson holds the record for nominations by an actor, but not "Best Actor". 4 of his 12 were supporting noms.

Well, I guess I also had to be aware that it was a Final Jeopardy clue.

I added 5/21/87 (Seniors F1): http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=6346

with Irene Grzywacz, Lee Saunders & Zeke Sevilla, Jr. to finish off that tournament.

For the sake of the completeness since I have shared pics of the other 14 players, Dan Zamos (from QF2):

Lee got a correct response for the Wally Moon clue while social media types in 2019 would lose their mind between his not naming the sport and not naming the home prior to Dodger Stadium.

Even though it had to be the guy, I like the Everett Dirksen clue for the origin of his middle name.

Spelling categories are a hassel, I mean hassle, to archive and almost always have contestants with misspellings.

Like so many Americans this week I’m calling it a week, early, as far as archiving goes. At least I got a game in yesterday and today to accomplish something. Others tank the whole week as July 4th no longer seems like a one-day holiday.

I’ll get another game in on Monday the 8th. If someone has a request for tournament games, this week is a good time to ask, otherwise I’ll continue with 1989 CC.

Thanks for all your work, Mark.

Regarding "16TH CENTURY SCIENCE", was the TH superscript or just small? I think there are ways of representing either of those options.

Here it is:

Depending on the game I've seen it smaller, higher, underlined, lower case...many variations over the years

Yeah, I think I'd call that a superscript. I'm going to go ahead and edit it.

I would like to put in requests for the following games if possible:

May 8, 1992 - 1992 College Quarterfinals #5 (contestants should be Billy Baxter, Nick, & Stephanie)
May 9, 1994 - 1994 College Semifinal #1 (contestants should be Sarah Jane, Martin, & Keri)
May 11, 1995 - 1995 College Finals #1
May 8, 1996 - 1996 Teen Quarterfinals #3 (contestants should be Linda, Derek, & Peter)

Another interesting thing about this 1989 College Championship game Mark just put in today is the shilling for the Columbia Pictures release Ghostbusters 2. Columbia bought Jeopardy! from Merv Griffin three years earlier and subsequently became a Sony property. Propaganda for Sony products and releases is common on Jeopardy! today, but I hadn't noticed until this game that the trend goes all the way back to the late '80s. I'm curious if anyone can find the first post-1986 instance of a Columbia Pictures ad in a Jeopardy! clue.

Don't feel like you need to do any research to find this, but I'm hoping for the tournament ep, probably College, probably first half of 1993, which featured a Video Daily Double of Ren and Stimpy, I think at the Jeopardy lecterns. The girl guessed Ren and Stumpy, commenting after that she doesn't watch much TV.

I have the 1993 College tape handy since I recently added the Phoebe games. There are six not in the Archive that would not be too much trouble to check. Look for it next week as long as you have the right tourney.

It was 1993 College and SF1 so not too bad since my tape was already cued up at the end of QF4. Fortunately, FAMOUS PAIRS stood out enough for me to spot it as a good category to check.

Someone with good photoshop skills could produce a decent screen capture.

I heard Ren and Stempy, so perhaps I'll upload that portion of the video next week to get a jury's opinion.

After the miss she said, "Well, I don't watch it."
