That's about the best I could hope for with a spelling category on hand as usually there are more errors.

The 1993 Teen Tournament is now complete.

We welcome the TV spin-off "Golden Palace" and the "Young Guns" knock-off "Young Riders" to the J-Canon as responses.

I remember thinking that Deborah's FJ response was a full-on joke (I was in sixth grade and hadn't learned that that was an actual thing, albeit one with an intentionally funny name).

I wonder if Halla's FJ wager was a case of accidentally adding $100 to it in his calculations instead of subtracting it, or just an unlucky coincidence. No harm done either way.

Double tough breaks for Sate as 9800 (or 19600) is almost always good enough for a wildcard while this tourney had 10799 as WC4 getting the last spot and the DJ! round (could happen in the QF round back in the old days) ended with two clues remaining. The lesson is don't go on J! and talk about girls wearing bikini tops to class in Florida?

I'll finish 1993 College tomorrow, then work on the 3 missing from 1993 Seniors, the request for Teens 1994 QF1 and then Jeff's new set of five.

Thanks for mentioning that. Apparently the information I put in the WC cutoff thread that I had copied from the old thread was in error.

If/when you edit that, could you also edit the spelling of Phoebe Juel's last name?

10W though the errors only came on a handful of clues.

If Leon had farmed DD3 he still would have been shy of the lead although perhaps putting more heat on Hugh could have caused an unforced error.

I added 7/21/93: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=6720

Player pics of Barbara Broerman & Lee Gelber who played Marilyn Kneeland:
Spoiler

Marilyn’s pic has been posted previously.

Marilyn flat out got away with a phrasing error in the DJ! round. Being generous to the seniors is nice while Alex & the judges being lenient disadvantaged the other players. Marilyn went on of course to make a lot more J! money than the $5K she could have left with after this game.

Barbara had her chance to make it not matter on DD3 while $3K was not quite enough.

That completes the 1993 Seniors Tournament.

And now for the bad news--I found out that my 1994 TT tape does not have QF 1. Lisa Munoz, a big-time SotC champ led off the tape followed by QF2, which I add in tomorrow.

Perhaps I taped over QF1 or I never got it all. I can't blame Monday Night Football in February, so perhaps I forgot a tournament was starting and was not set up to tape it. Spilt milk, nothing I can do about it. Perhaps it will turn up from someone else since it's in the 1990s with VCRs popular and any/all/in between of the teens might have it saved somewhere.

The next five requests from Jeff are ones I've confirmed I have.
