What a pure and beautiful voice she had. The Seekers' "I'll Never Find Another You" is probably one of my top 10 all-time favorite songs. A downside in 2022 of being a 1960s music freak is that one-by-one the stars from that era are now regularly dying of old age. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/musi ... t-1393839/

One of the 1960s' most beautiful voices. "Georgy Girl" and "I'll Never Find Another You" never get old.

David McCullough was not only a best-selling author, but as the narrator of Seabiscuit (2003), Ken Burns' The Civil War documentary series, and almost two dozen episodes of The American Experience, many have thought of McCullough as the voice of American history.

For trivia purposes, it's worth remembering that her grandfather was Nobel Prize-winning physicist Max Born.

Dang. He wrote/narrated so many good books and tv series. I was always looking forward to his next work. :(

Indeed, which is why she’s my second cousin through marriage.

You may not recognize the name; more likely you would recognize the artwork: illustrator and cartoonist, Jean-Jacques Sempé, whose often fanciful artwork appeared on 110 New Yorker Magazine covers.

Linked article says dead. BTW, is this thread really necessary? I can understand sharing the passing of people whose obituaries could be easily missed, but reporting the deaths of Olivia newton-john, Vin scully, Etc, seems unnecessary.

So why add another as soon as you possibly could?
I have a vision of someone sitting at their screen right this moment refreshing a search of Salman Rushdie over and over again...

This thread resulted because somebody thought it would be useful to separate out the passings from the other current events.

The idea of both threads is to make forum users aware of facts that could come up on Jeopardy!

Or, more often, facts that will never come up on J!
I'm glad it was separated out, but it's still morbid.

This is supposed to be a thread for the passing of those who might be asked about on Jeopardy. It's nice to have an easily accessed list of possible show material.

The problem is that it's now morphed into a thread where boardies just post obits of people who may be of interest to them regardless of whether or not it's Jeopardy material. At least two thirds of postings in this thread have zero chance of ever being asked about on Jeopardy.

Regarding Anne Heche, according to California law, when someone is pronounced brain dead they have officially passed. I initially thought the posting above was jumping the gun, but technically it is not.
