Carroll's performance in The Little Mermaid made Ursula the Sea Witch one of the great Disney villains.floridagator wrote: ↑Sun Jul 31, 2022 9:52 pm Pat Carroll, Broadway lady and celebrity guest on the very first 10000 Pyramid

She had a few Broadway credits, but her big theater successes were an off-Broadway one-woman show in which she played Gertrude Stein, and appearances at the Folger Shakespeare in Washington DC; among her roles there was Falstaff.floridagator wrote: ↑Sun Jul 31, 2022 9:52 pm Pat Carroll, Broadway lady and celebrity guest on the very first 10000 Pyramid
She was on the first season, but It doesn't look like she was on the first episode of Pyramid-

Of course, her most well-known role of all is Ursula in Disney's The Little Mermaid.

No argument here. When asked what he thought of the Bulls' three-peat, he said "not much".
Tell your friend I enjoyed his article. Thanks for sharing it.Rackme32 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 01, 2022 2:44 am More on Bill Russell, written by a friend of mine:

That reminds me of when Uday and Qusay Hussein were killed; The Daily Show report on the strike had an onscreen graphic with the heading "The Smothered Brothers." (Sorry for off-topic post)

Vin Scully age 94
When the weather was clear I used to be able to listen to Vin Scully call night games on radio out of a Nevada feed. He was great on TV and amazing on radio.

Although I lived in L.A. for sixteen years, I was never a Dodgers fan. But Vin Scully was the best I ever heard call a game.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 11:40 pm Vin Scully age 94

I'll bet you didn't know Vin Scully hosted a daytime variety show on CBS in 1973. They pulled the plug after 7 weeks and replaced him with $10000 Pyramid. That was the same year Alex Trebek made his debut hosting The Wizard of Odds on NBC.
Earlier, Vin hosted a game show called It Takes Two.

Re: 2022 RIP thread
Coincidentally, Vin's broadcast partner when he broadcast NBC's MLB Game of the Week from 1983-88, Joe Garagiola, also had quite a good game show resume (Vin would be partnered with Tom Seaver in his last season, 1989).
Vin and Joe, who had such awesome chemistry together, are together again.
