I would think that the big sports news of the last week, and the one most likely to see J! airtime, would be the MLB agreement, but even that would probably not be something that a clue would be designed around.

Re: 2022 Current Events Study Guide
How about adding some context in order to improve the study guide-ness of this thread (especially since I think this is probably the most likely sports news to specifically show up on J!):
Quarterback Tom Brady officially announced his retirement from the NFL on February 1 (as econgator posted in this thread while it was still in the rumor stage). Then, on March 13, he officially announced his un-retirement, saying he would be back for (at least) one more season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. (He had led the Bucs to a victory in Super Bowl LV at the end of the 2020 season, but in the 2021 season, the Bucs lost to the Los Angeles Rams in the divisional round of the playoffs.)
"TB12" is Tom Brady's nickname based on his initials and his uniform number -- it's a coincidence that he plays for a team that represents a region that has the same initials.

Our copy of The TB12 Method, Tom Brady's lifestyle guide, has been rescued from the bottom of a stack of disused books on the living room floor. In honor of The Un-Retirement and in pursuit of Bradian Pliability, I may try once again to limit my intake of nightshades and caffeine.trainman wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 1:56 amQuarterback Tom Brady officially announced his retirement from the NFL on February 1 (as econgator posted in this thread while it was still in the rumor stage). Definitely FJ! round material: The Eiffel Tower grew 6 metres (19.69 ft) on Tuesday after a new digital radio antenna was attached to the top of the Paris monument. The tower, built by Gustave Eiffel in the late 19th century, now measures 330 metres after the DAB+ (digital audio) antenna was airlifted onto its peak by helicopter under a leaden sky
(The above was copied from a Google search of "eiffel tower taller" after seeing a news flash on my TV's pause screen which cycles through information.)

The 1915 Çanakkale Bridge crosses the Dardanelles roughly 135 miles southwest from the transcontinental city of Istanbul. It’s the fourth Turkish bridge connecting Asia and Europe, but it’s the first one built outside Istanbul. The bridge’s mainspan is 2,023 meters (1.25 miles) long, meaning that this is the new longest suspension bridge in the world by the margin of 105 feet. The entire project cost $2.8 billion, with the bridge taking five years and over 5,000 workers to build.

To flesh it out a little...
Also omitted was the award most likely to become a Final Jeopardy:
Best Supporting Actress
Ariana DeBose, "West Side Story"
The third time someone has won an Oscar for playing the same character.
And -this- time, not only is it the same character but the exact same role, the same story and the exact same award
(Rita Moreno, 60 years ago)
or 'Child of a Deaf Adult'

Alyssa Nakken, assistant coach for the SF Giants, became the first woman to work a baseline (as first base coach.) Admittedly, it's because the normal first base coach got himself ejected, but still.

Sadly, her historic moment was overshadowed by the just terrible creamsickle city-connect jerseys the Giants had to wear that day.

Before it falls off page 1:
Showtime series: The First Lady
Viola Davis: Michelle Obama
Michelle Pfeiffer: Betty Ford
Gillian Anderson: Eleanor Roosevelt
Paramount+ series: The Offer about making The Godfather
*************
Probably outside J!'s scope, but if you want to see Jake New Girl Johnson play a different character then HBO Max's Minx is the place as he plays a 1970's smut-mag publisher. It's worth a look/listen for the music, details of the era and the laughs. Warning: There is both female and male full frontal nudity.
