Daytime Emmy nominations are out.

Jeopardy gets another nom for Outstanding Game Show, along with usual suspects Wheel, Feud, Deal, and Price.

Leah Remini scores her first hosting nom for People Puzzler, along with Steve Harvey, Wayne Brady, and a 4th person, who is nominated twice for 2 different shows. Can you guess who?:
Spoiler
Pat Sajak, for Wheel and Celebrity Wheel.
More trivia: "Beyond Salem", which scored its first Daytime Drama nom, is a spinoff of Days of Our Lives.

Judge Judy's new show "Judy Justice" (on Amazon FreeVee, which was formerly IMDB TV) got a nom.

And one more guessing question. This year will see the third show to receive a Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award, after 60 Minutes and Sesame Street. Name it.
Spoiler
PBS's This Old House.

This seemed odd as 60 Minutes is not a daytime show, my guess is the articles making this claim are indicating that 60 Minutes and Sesame Street were the only prorams (daytime or primetime) to ever be so honored. But I can't find any full list anywhere so it's hard to verify this for certain. It looks like 60 Minutes was honored in 2003: "The academy presented its second annual lifetime achievement award to Don Hewitt, outgoing executive producer of CBS's "60 Minutes," and a crew of past and present producers and correspondents for the program."

2022 Kentucky Derby winner, Rich Strike, an 80-1 long shot.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-61367800
The horse was only brought in on Friday after another had to drop out.

It is the second longest shot to win the Run for the Roses after Donerail won at 91-1 odds in 1913.

Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr, son of the exiled former dictator, has been elected the President of the Philippines in what appears to be a landslide based on initial vote tallies. He replaces departing president Rodrigo Duterte.

There is both a new record for sale price on a 20th work of art and an American work of art: Shot Sage Blue Marilyn by Andy Warhol
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-61339179
An iconic painting of Marilyn Monroe by Andy Warhol has been auctioned for $195m (£158.17m) - making it the most expensive piece of 20th Century art ever sold.
...
The previous record price for a piece of American artwork was $110.5m for a skull painting created in 1982 by Warhol's sometimes friend and sometimes competitor, Jean-Michael Basquiat.
...
The final price also smashes the previous record for a 20th Century work of art, set in 2015 when a 1955 painting by Pablo Picasso - Les Femmes d'Alger (Version O) - sold for $179.4m, including fees.
I never should've given up screenprinting I guess...

A sequel that lives up to the original, the Event Horizon Telescope (which is actually a bunch of telescopes working together) team has released a photo of Sag A*, the assumed black hole at the center of the Milky Way.

Most expensive car is now the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé (1 of 2), selling for ~$143 million at auction

https://jalopnik.com/this-mercedes-is-o ... 1848951352
...for that price you could buy the previous record holder for world’s most expensive car—the 1963 Tour de France-winning Ferrari 250 GTOs sold at $70 million—twice...
...
...The auction was by invitation only, for customers Mercedes trusts to take care of such a car.
...
...The only other Uhlenhaut’s coupe in existence will stay in Mercedes’ Heritage fleet in Stuttgart.

Time to update the Australian PM flash card: Australia has elected its first Labor government in almost a decade and Anthony Albanese as prime minister, ousting Scott Morrison's coalition.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-61534732

And only three days ago, then PM Morrison absolutely trucked a child during soccer practice
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-05-18/ ... /101078710

COINCIDENCE?!
(Yeah, probably)

This has "I DARE you to make a trivia question about it" just slathered all over it, so as otherwise obscure as it is, here we go:

https://www.avclub.com/jaw-jonathan-sea ... 1848968720
Steven Spielberg descended upon the town to film Jaws nearly 50 years ago, Oak Bluffs must now be reminded once again of its monstrous fish nightmare...

Jonathan Searle, who, along with his brother, played the pair of kids swimming around with a fake shark fin and causing mass panic in a scene from Jaws, has ...become Oak Bluffs new police chief.
