The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, which you can reach at 1-800-273-8255, will be getting an easier-to-remember number as of July 16. The old number will still work, but after the switch you will also be able to connect with the service by calling 988.

Jim Thorpe reinstated as winner of the 1912 Olympics pentathlon and decathlon gold medals

Thorpe was stripped of the medals in 1913 for having played professional (minor league) baseball two years before the 1912 Games, thus disqualifying him as an amateur athlete. His reinstatement comes on the 110th anniversary of his decathlon victory.

The International Quidditch Association has changed its name to The International Quadball Association. Reasons include copyright issues with Warner Brothers, but also a desire to dissociate themselves from comments by J.K. Rowling that are seen as anti-trans.

The Artemis I Space Launch System (SLS) launch is now scheduled for the end of August/early September. It's the first test flight for a system that aims to put astronauts on the Moon as early as next year, and ultimately on Mars.

For the obligatory connection to mythology, Artemis was the Greek goddess of hunting and fertility and associated with the moon (her Roman counterpart was Diana). Artemis was the twin sister of Apollo.
