Rose.

Had to stop myself from saying dragon for krait because of Star Wars' krayt dragons.

I've seen a touring production of Annie, but SJP was too old to play Annie by then. Never seen Annie Get Your Gun.
Thinking of Frederick Douglass.
Never been to Hawaii.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

Tue - Merman > Parker
Wed - Douglass
Thu - Bastille
Fri - Washington

Made it as far as the Houston Chapel guy on Rothko...

I left it unchecked, but it's likely I did see Punchbowl (from the side) I just wouldn't have seen it for what it was.
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

For the extras, I missed Russian-born painter and said Kandinsky...I just blanked on Sydney Carton.
I'll be surprised if anyone else happened to see SJP in Annie in 1979-80.

All my gets were insta, and I feel I should have gotten Douglass and Annie. My mom got Annie (but she didn't spoil it!).

My brother and some other relatives (including my cousin, who was in Hawaii with the Navy for a while) have been to the Punchbowl, where my grandmother's brother is buried, but I haven't.

I saw a production of Annie at my sisters' high school.

I thought of Rose first for Merman but then I thought of Annie O and figured that must be it.

I guess I should have had snake for krait, but it had been a while and I was waiting for dragon to be the bottom-row answer, plus "krait" sort of evokes kraken.

Chagall for Russian-born Modern artist.

When I thought of Douglas(s) both the Little Giant and the Lion of Anacostia came to mind (though not the actual latter nickname, because I'd never heard it before), but I was confident that Frederick was the one.
I'm smart and I want respect.

Second week in a row with a "yes-no-yes-no-yes" pattern in FJ.

Should have had "Annie," not sure why I couldn't come up with it. But I thought it was a great clue. Might have gotten it if it had specified "title character."

Went with "Sword" on Thursday.

Had to count the third extra clue as a miss. I've mispronounced Sydney's name as "Carlton" ever since I first read the book.

My daughter played an orphan in a school production of Annie -- only time I've seen it on stage.
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

No guess Tuesday; "justice" Thursday

Very surprised Rothko is polling at 27%

Guesses that hit on Annie and Guillotine, the other two were sure things.

Picked Montana as a pretty good place to put dead people. On the reveal, I assumed the Punchbowl was on any island but Oahu since we finally took a post-Covid vacation and went to Oahu last September for 8 days. It never showed up on the s**t to do tourist info. Turns out I was (Waikiki) four miles away from it the whole trip.

Went and checked my photos and I have, technically, seen Punchbowl! This is facing northeastish of the capital building, at the Eternal Flame so that all but certainly makes Punchbowl that big ol' mass of brown in the back.

Still don't think it's enough to change my vote to "have seen it" even though, again, technically......

I guess I've seen it too, then since I was on top of a building with a vista, but I will take the spirit of the question to be 'visited', so I will leave it unchecked as well.

I haven't seen Punchbowl Crater yet, but it's on my list of things to see when I go to Hawaii next month.

I wonder why my vote for having seen SJP is not recorded - it was when I first voted on Saturday. I see a checkmark next to it and my other choices still.
