Re: Monday, May 9, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Mayim returns although Ken did post he would be back before the end of the season.
My dad will get at least one from the 4th podium as he knows what title goes with Virgil Tibbs.
Trapdoor for Emily guessing Fast Times at Ridgemont High for the Lucas work.
Karim's grunt after missing DD1 was something else to hear. He must have got a talking to at the break for that kind of reaction was my initial thought until Karim missed DD2 and was quite unhappy at that moment as well.
People's exhibit for correct last name & incorrect first name rebounded correctly with just the correct last name.
The FJ! clue was not for me as I matched Danielle to have something on my paper while knowing the work was earlier. The correct work? Spot me the author and I should get it within 30 seconds although no guarantee.
Danielle defends. That better than many others have done after beating a big champ.

Took me a bit to shake off All the King's Men, but I got there in time.

Nice save by Karim from almost saying Copernicus.
Regular boardies will cleanup the trash on naval category.
Highlight for me is randomly guessing Blue Christmas on DD and picking up my jaw.
Surprised that Danielle was able to repeat. Played much better.
Good FJ. No chance here.

Good enough to lose on Jeopardy!
Re: Monday, May 9, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
The timeframe for the novel got me to immediately think of Hemingway, and I got to the answer pretty quickly.
Re: Monday, May 9, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
"1590 poem" is such a flashing red Pavlov for The Faerie Queene in my mind that I had no chance of thinking of anything else.

Classic example of how, when there are two parts of the clue you could index off of, if you pick the wrong one, you are screwed.Robert K S wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 2:26 pmNo mention of the correct response poem title here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1590_in_poetry

That was the only thing that filled my mind for 1590.mas3cf wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 3:06 pmClassic example of how, when there are two parts of the clue you could index off of, if you pick the wrong one, you are screwed.Robert K S wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 2:26 pmNo mention of the correct response poem title here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1590_in_poetry

I was wondering how two players could fail to rebound "Yellow Brick Road" to "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" unless there was ruling/editing weirdness.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 1:40 pm

Yes, it's nice to see a giant slayer do better than one-and-done.
Re: Monday, May 9, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
In the past, Karin’s response of Kroc would have required a first name. And the host didn’t even give his correct first name.
I do think he should have been given a nudge when he gave one of the three cities on the DD.
No chance on FJ, guessed The Sun Also Rises.
