Yet another 1-fer week.

Sound and the Fury on Mon.
Coachella and Burning man on Tues.
No clue on Wed
Mexico on Thurs.

Have seen Godfather, although probably not in 25 years.
Have set foot in GA literally over a hundred times between layovers at the airport, stops while driving through, or just vacationing.

Monday was a disaster, as detailed in the Fourth Podium poll thread. Trying to think of someone other than Hemingway, and still ended up with For Whom the Bell Tolls, a Hemingway book that if I'd had longer to think about, I would have known was definitely not it. If A Farewell to Arms had come to mind, that would have been my guess, but alas. Haven't read Farewell.

Was thinking spaghetti westerns Wednesday. I've seen The Godfather, but would not have gotten this clue even spotted the movie name. I said Mercedes to have something.

After picking a book set in Spain Monday and a Spanish name Wednesday, my brain remained on its track and I said Spain Thursday.

Went to Atlanta on a band trip.

Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

Have seen The Godfather several times, at least
Only visits to Georgia have been changing planes in airports, if that counts.

I didn't check the Gatsby, Burning Man, or Luca Brasi boxes, although all of them were things I considered during the contemplation time.

I knew "the sun also rises" was from Ecclesiastes, but the right answer made more sense anyway. I've read "Sun" but not "Farewell". "Carlo" triggered "The Godfather", and I thought of the character Clemenza before the word. Haven't been to Georgia or that palace.
I'm smart and I want respect.

Mo - Got Farewell to Arms at the 34-second mark. Spent too much time thinking through Theodore Dreiser and Sinclair Lewis for some reason.
Tu - Woodstock and Live Aid. Would've switched to Coachella if I'd thought of it.
We - Misericordia, and I've seen The Godfather twice (but neither time in this century)
Th - royal assent plus "states" takes me to Australia. Only needing 4 clinches it as a place with not too many states.
Fr - I knew the Georges were House of Hanover from Germany. Been to Atlanta a few times, but that didn't factor in.

Straight whiff on Tallchiefs. Don't know any songs from Rent. I'd only have a shot if it sounded similar to an aria from La Boheme. Does Rent have songs like "What a Cold Little Hand," or "Oh Lovely Girl"? Beethoven's only opera is a trivia chestnut that everyone should know cold. But there are plenty of sports chestnuts that I'd miss, so no judgment.

All I could come up with on Wednesday was Pietà. I've never seen The Godfather all the way through. Friday I realized Georgia in the very final moments of the music. No way I would have gotten it if I were writing it down, but I was also distracted by discussion of it with my dad and might have gotten there sooner if I had fully devoted the 30 seconds to thinking about it, so I'm counting it.

Think you would have thought of using GA? Probably could have scribbled that down.

I considered the possibility; I suspect I was too late even for that.

And that it would be running significantly behind Citizen Kane, per last week's poll.

I've seen The Godfather a couple times but had no clue on Wednesday and guessed Vito just to have something.
Louisiana on Friday.
I would prefer not to.
