Gateway Arch
Salinger
No chance on Steller

Watching the Cardinals play baseball on TV is the closest I’ve been to the Arch.

Recognize Stellar's after the fact. Probably a WWTBAM get, but not a fill in the blank

St Louis is on the list...

My vote for "For the Wednesday FJ! clue I knew the movie was Breakfast at Tiffany's, but I did not know the song." is not entirely accurate; I knew the song, I just couldn't retrieve it from my memory in time.

Nothing much to report on my mental processes. Gateway Arch, duh. Kerouac seemed the best guess but not such a great fit that I was sure. I remembered the scene with Audrey Hepburn singing "Moon River" so I didn't need to follow any breadcrumbs. Hanging Gardens and Lake Baikal just made sense.

Didn't remember Long March or the name associated with sea cows and jays. Knew Omar the tentmaker.

Gateway Arch Monday, never been.
No guesses Wednesday or Friday (knew Wed was from Breakfast at Tiffany's but wasn't getting from there to any song, and I have no recollection of hearing "Moon River" before looking it up after)
Alexandria lighthouse Thursday; dismissed the Hanging Gardens because last I checked there was no clear evidence they were real.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

It is one of the 7 Wonders of the World, though, so whether or not it actually existed is irrelevant.

Gateway Arch, although my first thought was St. Louis Arch, was not sure it would have been accepted.
Never been to St. Louis
Totally forgot about the Hanging Gardens, so went with the Lighthouse at Alexandria

Yep. Also, current theory is they weren't in Babylon, but Ninevah:

Of course it's relevant. Researchers wouldn't be speculating about how the gardens were maintained if they don't think they existed. This was the one thing that gave me pause before locking in Hanging Gardens as still the most likely response.

Been awhile since I got three in a week...

Been past the Arch, called it Gateway.

The three I nailed were instagets, esp. Moon River even though I have never seen the movie. I like music with an actual melody and no blasting electric guitars. :)

Looking at the correct response, I probably could have pulled Stellar in a good day... Maybe. Have heard of both animal species, but pulling the name in a few seconds?? Questionable...

I have heard tentmaker = Omar Khayam before, but couldn't pull that in the moment.

My knowledge of the voyages of Vitus Bering is...not Stellar???

Congratulations on the quadruple post to get you up to twelve this week .

My double post frequency has gone down a lot since I learned not to try to stop the upload for last second edits, and to pay attention if your post is still on the screen and you think you haven't pressed the Submit button. I frequently have long delays in loading pages or posts. It's probably the twelvefootfilter the mods have imposed to keep me from dumbing down the board ;) .

I had my first 3 greenies in a while as well:
 :( :(
:( :( :(

St. Louis Arch, per native jargon. I have ridden the washing machine tubs to the top.
I took the ambiguous definition of contemporary and had no idea, I picked Faulkner to have something.
I struggled to get to a Johnny Mathis (instead of Mercer) song. Because of Branson, Moon River is Pavlov for Andy Williams around here.
First instinct was the Gardens, then worried about the Leaning Colossus and the Leaning Lighthouse.
I named every lake I know in Asia for Friday.

Gateway Arch as my answer; have ridden the rotating elevator car to the top.

Had the Bering Expedition clue said "sea lion" instead of "sea cow," it might have increased my chances of getting Steller from 0% to 2%.
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.
