For about one second considered Betty White before landing on the (in retrospect, obvious) correct response in Final.

Re: Monday, June 13, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Mayim opened with some Eric stats about correct clues, DDs and runaways.
Hah, "Runaways". That's what Eric did and in a different sense may in combination please/displease a certain 4x champ.
Some howler misses where my laugh may have been heard next door with The Prophet and Mick Jagger.
Oh, young people! I learned about two bits when I helped a friend in the 1970s with school work and his mom would give me two bits or four bits.
The FJ! category had me try four precalls: Larry King, Carson, Regis and then switching gears, what turned out to be the right name.
When I saw the clue I matched Lisa and put the pen down to stay down although during think time I kept assuring myself it could not or better not be Carol Burnett.
That's nice Lisa made it to the FJ! could to get the small piece of pride with the sole solve. Mazin bet big on his miss though not enough to blow $1000 needlessly.
It worked out well for the hearing coverage to end in time for J! to air on Delta and credit as well to the technicians there to fix everything after the lightning strike.

Ides of June: https://j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=7381
The broadcast briefly cut out and I missed J1 and whatever explanation there may have been about the ONE, TWO category.
Another texting category?
I can't remember 10,000 bands and whether they have "The" or "the" in their name. Time will tell if I messed up any of them.

I cannot agree enough.
22/1, 27/0. No PCG in DJ!
How were there stumpers in the Code category? that shoulda been pure speed drill.
absolute howler on guessing Queen of Sheba for Jezebel
trash: quarter, Public Enemy #1. more: giant, no, umber
Am I the only one who NHO Lazard?
betting clues: (didn't this come up recently?)
Same. I guess being weak in the category actually helped as I had no distractors.BrigadierSolo13 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 2:20 pm Wow, a nightmare FJ category for me turned out to be a quick solve. I'll take it!

For anyone who might be wondering: Yes, the play adaptation of Death on the Nile is called Murder on the Nile, and the play was of course published as a book (I have it sitting in front of me). But it turns out that in the play, both the murder victim and the steamer have different names, so the DD neg was the right call.

Easy solve for me on FJ. Eric kind of aknowledged he is weak in classic TV with that wager and miss.

The category name pretty much announced the correct response for me, especially with the recent movie (and I listened to the recent TCM podcast about her life). The clue only confirmed it.

LOL, just LOL at Michael Caine being mistaken for Mick Jagger.
LOL just LOL at Buster Keaton mentoring Mary Tyler Moore.
LOL, just LOL at Buster Keaton mentoring Ginger Rogers and her being a TV legend.
Ryan should have gotten bms on two step because the clue specified name of a state.

Re: Monday, June 13, 2022 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)
I went from Buster Keaton to Gloria Swanson, then noted the "TV" category. It had to be very early TV and probably a comedian, so Lucy it is. I had no idea Buster Keaton the silent film star was ever relevant in Television.
Twelvefootgirl LOL'd at the Mick Jagger answer. A picture of an old guy could just be any Boomer - I love it! Send him to Branson!
I don't know how you were supposed to respond "what is autocorrect" to that word salad containing manboobs. I like this category as long as they can populate it with legit established textisms. I won't get them, but it's good to reward geeks.
Meteorologist get the solar wind clue as a DD. Cue up the conspiracy theorists.

I got autocorrect, playing leisurelyly from the archive. I didn't like how the url was broken into two pieces, or that "THIS" was not set off in any way from the rest of the clue (though the latter is not a new issue). In any case, I was more confused by "many times, many ways" and possibly only the top clue in the cat would I have figured out in time (with no chance on MMS).
I'm smart and I want respect.

He did a bunch of TV guest appearances (probably the one that’s most seen in modern times was an episode of “The Twilight Zone”) and a bunch of commercials for various advertisers (most notably Alka-Seltzer).twelvefootboy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 12:04 am I had no idea Buster Keaton the silent film star was ever relevant in Television.
