Fourth Podium Poll for Wednesday, June 22, 2022

Post by opusthepenguin »

$12,600 in trash. No potential DDs up for grabs. You don't get a crack at Tweedledee because Megan was incorrectly ruled correct. You need over $7000 and a correct FJ to win. Doesn't sound too bad, right? We'll see.

SCORES GOING INTO FJ

Megan Waschspress: 5600 + got FJ
Sarah Brogren: 7000 - missed FJ
Jeff Weinstock: 7000 + got FJ
CORRECT RESPONSES
JEOPARDY ROUND

SJ3 $600 ____ING BOOK TITLES: Lying
SJ23 $800 THE SONG OF THE DAY: Thursday's Child
SJ24 $1000 THE SONG OF THE DAY: "Thank God It's Friday"
SJ25 $400 THE SONG OF THE DAY: a "New Moon On Monday"
SJ27 $600 THE SENATOR'S FIRST NAME: rob Peter to pay Paul

DOUBLE JEOPARDY ROUND

DJ5 $800 THE 1800s: Horatio Nelson
DJ10 $2000 HAIL TO THE CHEF: Escoffier
DJ13 $1600 IN THIS ECONOMY?: currants
DJ15 $1200 IN THIS ECONOMY?: Luxembourg
DJ17 $2000 DOUBLE DOUBLE E: sneeze weed
DJ20 $1600 THE 1800s: Tecumseh

FINAL JEOPARDY

Rob Peter to pay Paul, Luxembourg. Even if I give myself credit for a clam on ...Lying, I'm nowhere near contention.
Did get Final, though.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

I only got to check two boxes, and I only would have taken a stab at that confusing "rob Peter..." clue on the rebound.

$4600 before a correct FJ, so no chance.
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

This is turning out as I expected. $7001 plus a get on FJ seems like a relatively low bar. But when I looked at the available clues, I felt that few boardies would win from this fourth podium. Turns out this was just a tough game.

At 1/5 get rate, the Thursday's child clue is doing better than if only the Thursday's children knew it.
