Name The Ten Trivia Contest: Round 5

Post by harrumph »

The contest will take a break for the weekend and resume next Monday. If you're interested in participating but haven't done so yet, please feel free to submit answers for each round and your points will be added to the leaderboard.

One point for each correct answer. You are limited to ten responses per question, unless the question stipulates a different number (a few of the categories vary from the "name ten" format). For questions with bonus points, you will receive ten points for your first ten correct responses but no bonus points if any of your subsequent responses is incorrect.

Round 5

Name ten subatomic particles (composite or elementary).

Name the ten most populated cities in Germany.

Name the last ten winners of the Tournament Of Champions on the Jeopardy! television show.

Name ten female heads of state (prime ministers and presidents but excluding royalty) for any country since 1920 (one bonus point for each additional five; 15 named = 11 points, 20 named = 12 points, etc).

Name ten novels written in the 18th century.

Name ten novels written in the 18th century.
Gulliver’s Travels, Robinson Crusoe, Moll Flanders, Candide, Tom Jones, Tristram Shandy. I submit two others for your consideration, pointing out the word “written” in the question: Sense & Sensibility and Pride & Prejudice, both of which Jane Austen wrote and were submitted for publication in the 1790, although they were not successfully published until the 1810s. I don’t know how much they may have been revised in the years prior to publication.
