Alex: Jeff Huong is from Sandy Springs, Georgia, and he's a big fan of a new show that I am not familiar with.

Jeff: [Chuckles] I'm a big fan of the My Little Pony show, which has been an Internet phenomenon recently. I started watching it 'cause some of my friends like to watch it, and it's kind of nice. It's sort like a sitcom, where everything ends up nice in the end.

Alex: Okay.




Alex: Mike Lonesky is from Clinton, New York. He's a federal investigator who also plays a rather unusual sport.

Mike: Yeah, I play men's roller derby for a team in Utica, New York, called the Quadfathers.

Alex: And what's your nickname? They all have nicknames.

Mike: Sure. Yeah. One of my favorite things in the world is the haunted mansion at Disney World. So, the ride vehicles in the haunted mansion are called Doom Buggies, and that's my name, is "Doom Buggy".

Alex: "Doom Buggy".

Mike: Correct.

Alex: You like putting your opponents over the rail?

Mike: Yes. Well, we don't play on a banked track, like it used to be. We play on a flat track 'cause it's easier to store. You just put tape down. So there's no rails, but, you know, I hit people into the crowd, so... [Chuckles] That's always good.

Alex: Okay. That's a good way to get rid of your...

Mike: Aggression.

Alex: ...Aggression, yes.




Alex: Brendan O'Connor, computer hacker.

Brendan: Yes.

Alex: So you're a dishonest person.

Brendan: Oh, I think I'm a very honest person.

Alex: Really?

Brendan: My company pays me to find security holes before the bad guys do.

Alex: Oh!

Brendan: So I need to be honest.

Alex: So, you're one of the guys we come to, to say, "How can I protect myself against having someone get into my stuff?"

Brendan: Absolutely. One of the good guys.

Lazarus came right to mind... thanks to the cluttered attic that's installed above my shoulders.

And since it's Friday night here in southeastern N.H., that can only mean one thing: the ever so-exciting Patriots All Access Pre-game show is broadcasted by the Boston CBS affiliate and pre-empts "Jeopardy!", which is then bumped to 2:07 a.m. on Saturday morning. This results in two things:

1. Most friends and family didn't see my appearance last week.

2. And since we don't have a DVR, I'm going to miss Brendan's appearance tonight, to see how the *other* Brendan does this season.

Native English speaker who grew up in the midwest here, and I've always pronounced them the exact same way.

At the risk of going all TPH on you guys, I've NHO Emma Lazarus. Poetry (and literature in general) is not a strong suit for me.
