I did it the past 3 years, but there has not been a venue announced yet that is close to me. If one pops up then I will be there and once again finish in the middle of the pack!

I too may or may not do it. I know I will not do well.

Roughly how long does it last?

There are two sections that have an hour limit on each, then you have to go through and grade them. I would plan to have to stay 3 hours after the scheduled start time, though it may not take quite that long.

I signed up for Maryland. The venue sounds very knowledgeable.

I'm going to try it for the first time. In LA, in a venue likely to be filled with the likes of Jerome Vered, so I am sure to embarrass myself. As long as I'm in the top 3.5 billion, I'll be okay with that.

The Robin Hood Pub? That is in walking distance of my apartment.

On the other hand: 10:30 on a Saturday morning? Hmm...

Disappointed that Long Beach doesn't (yet, she adds hopefully) appear to be an option this year. :(

I suppose I could man up and drive further north, but logistics get more complicated with each additional mile.

Or, better yet, maybe I could talk some kind-hearted San Diego boardie into proctoring locally.....Anyone?... Anyone?.... Bueller?...

I'll be hosting an Austin site again this year. I've heard from most of the usual suspects, but we still have room for some new blood.

The word on the street is that the Pittsburgh site is holding a seat open for Arthur Chu, should he accept the challenge. Hey, it's good training for the ToC.

Sample questions here:

http://www.worldquizzingchampionships.c ... questions/

Since this is meant to be taken by international competitors, you're going to find questions about other countries and cultures that you aren't going to hear on Jeopardy.
Silver Screen Test, my movie trivia game show. Watch some of the episodes On-Demand.

Its open to everyone, so give it a try. The sports questions are pretty difficult as they deal with international sports that receive little coverage here. Same with culture and lifestyle categories. It's always fun though.

I perused the results list of 2013. Near the bottom there are seeminly hundreds of contestants, mainly from India & Bangladesh, that apparently scored fewer than 10 (out of 240, I think). Did this really happen, or am I misinterpreting something there?

In 2012, some of the contestants at my venue were accompanied by significant others who just played along to pass the time.

I'll be on a plane that day, so hopefully they'll let me take my quiz in midair.

No time listed for my city. Also, what's the cost to take the test?
