I do want to say right here, by the way, that Kraft Sandwich Spread is *the* best condiment ever made, as the lady in the Frank's Red Hot ad says, "I put that **** on everything!" Odd that I appear to be the only one who likes it, not only in my family, but in my neighbourhood, as it takes up an extremely small space on the shelf in both of our favourite grocery stores.
And I'm not surprised that salsa is #2 and mayo is #1. Both are due to the large Latin American population in the US. I know this because back in 1912, Hellmann's mayonnaise was manufactured in England and the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, where they are crazy about the stuff. Upon hearing of the Titanic's demise, the Mexican people were inconsolable. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which occurs each year on May 5th and is known, of course, as Sinko de Mayo.
