Steve Robin game #3 should be show #1434 not #1433.MarkBarrett wrote:I added Steve Robin #3: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=5021
Ken Jennings did not know the FJ! clue guy in 2004: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=2729 (last DD), so I guess the writers put him into retirement thinking that if KJ didn't get it, who will? Or have their been clues since with just the last name?

It's fortunate for us the show is still on in 2015 after that stinker of a game, not to mention the pain to archive with all the extra nonsense. The one break was non-cleared boards.
NAMES IN SONG $200 made me laugh. I suspect these days Alex would be a little tougher.

Re: New old games in the J! Archive
I just noticed another error in the season 4 j-archive, Judith Seeger’s 4th and 5th games should be game #717 and #718 and the game Beth Phillips played as a champion should be game #719.MarkBarrett wrote:Right, Thursday game = ending in -34. Tim Crockett posted a video about that game (clips with his comments mostly as text overlays) in which he claims to have known that one. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Cl1Ct_AvGucMarkBarrett wrote:Ken Jennings did not know the FJ! clue guy in 2004: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=2729 (last DD), so I guess the writers put him into retirement thinking that if KJ didn't get it, who will? Tim lived near me on the first floor of the Trojan Hall dorm our first year of college. As the video shows, he was not happy about being KJ-meat, but then, who was?seaborgium wrote:Tim Crockett posted a video...

Re: New old games in the J! Archive
I'd fix it but I don't know whether my fixes would be kosher. The clue reads, "Its chemical name is P-aminobenzoyl-dietthyl-amino-ethanolhydrochloride". I think there's an extra T in the "dietthyl" part and there should be a space before the hydrochloride.MarkBarrett wrote:The most frightening thing to read/type was the clue at "YES" OR "NO" $1000. Alex wanted nothing more to do with it and I agree. If something is wrong with that one someone else can fix it.
(There are also extra hyphens, I think, but those were probably there to break up the clue on the screen, and so might be left in.)

Looks like I messed it up in multiple spots (no surprise with that kind of clue) as I write everything by hand watching off the TV and then type it off my paper into the archive at the computer. Be my guest to clean it up.Robert K S wrote:I'd fix it but I don't know whether my fixes would be kosher. The clue reads, "Its chemical name is P-aminobenzoyl-dietthyl-amino-ethanolhydrochloride". I'll check on the dating errors for the S4 games and get back to it.

Re: New old games in the J! Archive
My source stands by the Archive being correct. Are you fine with #709 and #722 as shown in the Archive being correct? Could you please list some more games in the 709-722 range to help figure out why there is disagreement about the air dates? Thanks for all your help with these older games here on the board and with the uploads.animfan wrote:I noticed an error on the season 4 j-archive which is that Judith Seeger #4 and #5 should be game #717 and #718 and the game Beth Phillips played as a champion should be game #719animfan wrote:MarkBarrett wrote:Today I added Judith Seeger #3 from 1987: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=4911

Spoiler
The game is Beth 5500 Tom 5000 JOhn 8200 going into FJ!, a 2/3 game. ALex essentially gives away the correct response in WOrld War II $200 in DJ! and it helped Beth, who got the correct reponse after John negged. That swing helped make it the 2/3 game it was. IN the end, Beth didn't get FJ! right or wager $101 or less to allow her the win on a TS.

Re: New old games in the J! Archive
STeve Robin is listed as playing on the unarchived 10/22/87(but the players names and occupations are up). Was STeve invited back to the show three years later for some reason, or would the 1987 STeve Robin contestant be a different person?MarkBarrett wrote:I added Steve Robin #3: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=5021

It is a case of the idiot inputting the game typing in the wrong player ID number. It has been fixed.legendneverdies wrote:STeve Robin is listed as playing on the unarchived 10/22/87(but the players names and occupations are up). The game aired 10/22/1987, not 10/23 as Animfan1 says on his Dailymotion page

J-archive had the 10/21 game where the champion on 10/22 won her second game. Their dates are usually correct.Robert K S wrote:How do you know?legendneverdies wrote:The game aired 10/22/1987, not 10/23 as Animfan1 says on his Dailymotion page
