Ha! That shot could be straight out of Anchorman, no adjustment for parody purposes necessary.

Spoiler
This just appeared in the Washington Post. The reference to last night's show as a "Tournament of Champions" show is puzzling. I know that the comment could suggest that he's taped the ToC already but that would not be keeping an existing winning streak alive and I would hope that Matt's Mom would know whether his son's regular games were still airing as opposed to any later tournament games. I mean she is a Federal judge (on the other hand, this could mean that she has more important things on her mind).

I used to be AWSOP but wanted to be more theatrical.

So, after reading that, it seems that I am in the minority in saying I don't like the current champion at all. Such is the life of a habitual contrarian. :-)

This isn't really the show in the media, but Monsieur Trebek has made a very generous donation:

"'I’m at the age now where I don’t need the money,' said Mr. Trebek. 'So I guess the goal now is to find new ways to help other people and different ways in which to do it.'" That's a nice attitude, glad to hear about this.
Be that as it may, Alex, those people have never been in my kitchen.

Anyone watching The Leftovers on HBO?

On the November 22 episode titled "International Assassin", a character tells of being a multi-day Jeopardy! champion. The character defeated a four day champ and won $67,300.

I was going along with that episode until the idea that Patty could have been a Jeopardy champion really strained credibility...!! ;)

The FJ clue and responses Patti quoted came from an actual game that was played on October 14, 2013, which was exactly one year before the fictional Sudden Departure.

Amazingly, the right and wrong responses were again right and wrong responses for a different FJ clue last Wednesday in the TcC. Does that highly unlikely coincidence suggest the writers have supernatural powers?

I've always suspected this of Damon Lindelof, even after the somewhat disappointing LOST finale. But the November 22 episode of The Leftovers, in which Patti claimed to be a three-time Jeopardy! champion, was mind-blowing in more ways than one.

I thought CNN, of all media outlets, would be above the "We are going to tell the story of a contestant who, doing things as they have been done for years, has 'turned the game on its head'" idiocy.

Seriously, that is two minutes of my life I'll never get back.

If I had 50 cents for every math question I got right, I'd have $6.30 by now.

Next Wednesday, 12/30/15 CBS will air an episode of I Get That A Lot that will have this familiar face working at a library:

A different segment will also feature a J! champ.

(Maybe I should cut him some slack since he doesn't actually work/volunteer there. Perhaps he's more familiar with LoC than DD?)
