I suppose Marge Schott wouldn't have stood for a mustachioed mascot considering she wouldn't allow her players to have facial hair.

Actually, Steinbrenner had a think about facial hair too & that's what led me to the awesome Yankees. Surprising to see the returning champ do so poorly.

During the Alaska set up, I was nervous they were going to ask about Alaska as the easternmost state. That is a controversial issue not agreed upon by geographers. IMAO it is pedantic to call Alaska the easternmost state.

For FJ...you already know. I hate being reminded of that ugly thing.
Hi There -

Seems as though you're a Yankees fan. I'm in S. Jersey and believe it or not, my late Mom said she always had some interest in the Yankees. She actually got to see Babe Ruth play - in Philly.

I can't believe that all of the jpg and mov links of Jeopardy Archive are still no links at all yet. Why? :(

Because the Archivists are volunteers and some times a thing like Real Life interferes.

There really needs to be a sticky for this subject so we don't have to keep addressing it.

You really think the people who make first posts like this read stickies and FAQs first?

Although the Yankees did have a mascot at one time. Never forget.

Like the Yankees, the Angels once had a mascot. Actually, they had two mascots.

For which I never forgiven that franchise. The pain of that Series still stings, despite the intervening decade and a half.

There's never been a costumed Rally Monkey mascot, though (fortunately).

I didn't think the Angels were a Cleveland team …

Well, I feel like a complete idiot for not parsing "major league" as baseball, so I thought it might be the Buccaneers, because that pirate they had on their old uniforms had a moustache and looked rather dandy. I think if I'd have realized it was baseball I would have gotten there.
Not many people can say they've lost four times on Jeopardy!.

Coryat: $19,200
41 R/9(!) W
DD: 2/3
FJ: :(
LT: cocaine, Japan (DD), Queen Victoria

Glad this was the day Ricky got The Call rather than me. I was on tilt the whole game and lost over $10,000 to negs. I also couldn't make the Yankee Doodle Dandy connection on FJ! I ended up going with the Dodgers on the basis of alliteration, although as a lifelong Dodgers fan I figured I would have known about any such mascot.

The only "Dandy" I could come up with relating to baseball was the Dominican Dandy, Juan Marichal, so I went with the San Francisco Giants. I did eliminate Dandy Don Meredith because he played football.

Missed the game due to a con I went to.

Who else went "Ba ba ba bird, ba ba ba bird's the word" on the first J! category? (No, that's not a Family Guy reference. I first heard "Surfin' Bird" back in 1998 on a very short-lived CBS cartoon called Birdz, which used a cover as its theme song.

0/5 in They Sing, They Act, but ran "B" Game and Bird.

How was cocaine a TS? I got all but Thatcher in that category.

WLT Robin Hood, Mark Twain, or Queen Victoria at $400?

NHO Doctor Octopus. I thought putting Dick Tracy in that category was a bit of a dick move, since he was the only one who was from a comic strip and not a book.

No Hunger Games in the Arrow category? A sincere thank-you.

No guess on FJ! Nothing seemed to make sense.

The most Kim can get is $24,800 which would normally be enough to catch the leader.
