STATE CAPITAL NAME'S THE SAME
Each correct response will be the name of a non-capital settlement in the given state that is the same as a name of one of the 50 U.S. state capitals.

2: Massachusetts: this village where Giles Corey was pressed to death in 1692 during the witch hunts.

4: South Carolina: 2nd most populous city, where nine were murdered at Mother Emanuel AME Church in June 2015.

6: Massachusetts: this site of an April 19, 1775 battle.

8: Wyoming: this community of 8,647 named for a mountain man, not a President (we're telling the "hole" truth).

10: Massachusetts: this southwestern Massachusetts city where James Naismith invented basketball in 1891.

3: Transcription converts the information encoded in DNA into a complementary sequence in the "messenger" type of this molecule.

6: This 19th century monk's study of inheritance in pea plants started the field of genetics.

9: This term refers to an organism that has two identical copies of a gene that specifies some trait (e.g.. blond hair).

12: The 1983 Nobel Prize in Medicine was awarded to this woman who discovered genetic transposition during her studies of maize genetics.

15: The 1978 Nobel Prize in Medicine was awarded for the discovery of this class of DNA-cutting proteins, enabling genetic engineering.
