Re: Friday, December 2, 2016 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]
Was at a con over the weekend. DVR didn't get Wednesday or Thursday; will catch up via the bunker.
My college piano teacher had to play Pachelbel Canon at a funeral, and they accidentally listed it as "Taco Bell Canon" in the bulletin.
Why didn't the champ get a chance to spit out the other one on the Tomlin clue? Alex seemed to cut him off fast before he could even try.
Strangely in Movie, I recognized none of the titles at 400-1000, but recognized the actors. 200 was the reverse, as I recognized White Men Can't Jump bot not Harrelson.
Animals for $400 was negbait for bouquet.
You can get Doritos as a side at Taco Bell? Dr Pepper is "One of a Kind"? The hell is DoorDash? Those things are called Cinnabon Delights?!? Can't believe I went 1/5 in Taco Bell.
All but Anemia in health. How was "migraine" a TS? Also got Lach Trash on Manzanar.
Clara Barton continues to elude me when I need to bring up her name.
I call BS on the Doritos clue. I eat at Taco Bell all the time and I have never seen Doritos by themselves as a side, nor do I see them on TB's menu on their site. Can we label that as an erratum?
Where the hell is the TOM on this clue?! I had no guess.

I didn't know Doritos were available as a side either, but wasn't Locos Taco also in the clue? It seemed quite obvious to me.

Another route to encounter Manzanar is from Ansel Adams's gorgeous photos taken there in 1943, a great act of politically inspired artistry. Instaget for me, however, as an old family friend was interred there as a teenager.Cat Hammarskjold wrote:I only know about the existence of Manzanar from its mention in The Karate Kid. Huh. I've been in literally dozens and dozens of TBs, but have never, ever seen Doritos by themselves available as a side. I've never seen pintos, rice, or pico de gallo either. Clearly they pinned it to an overly regional item, just like when they use "Daily Double" as a TOM for McDonald's.jeff6286 wrote:https://www.tacobell.com/food/sidesTenPoundHammer wrote: You can get Doritos as a side at Taco Bell? "Side of chips" was enough to mislead me to WAGging "nachos" even though I know what a Doritos Locos Taco is. I still think that was a very easy clue to whiff.

Wasn't the category TACO BELL'S CANON IN "D"? Being spotted the first letter made things a lot less complicated than you're making them.

Write them down? Players can read them on the board so I don't think that's really cheating for home viewers.TenPoundHammer wrote:Because people never forget the category either, right?seaborgium wrote:Wasn't the category TACO BELL'S CANON IN "D"? The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

Now you're just declaring that it has to be a regional item. You don't get to just make stuff up. Did you do any research before you reached this conclusion? You claimed you didn't see them on their site, and it took me about 30 seconds to google it and provide the links above. Did you call taco bells in your area and ask if it's available as a side? Maybe the Doritos, pintos, pico de gallo, etc, are available but not listed on the menu. Just because you missed a question doesn't mean it's a massive conspiracy against you.TenPoundHammer wrote:Huh. Virtually every Taco Bell I have been to (in several states) has a set of four "Meal Deals" in addition to the main combos. Each one features an entree, a medium drink, and a small bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos. Here is a promo image from the nationwide launch back in 2010:TenPoundHammer wrote:Huh. Getting back to FJ!, how did everyone but me know to guess Nessie? Even my mom got this one right, and her track record's worse than mine.

If I had 50 cents for every math question I got right, I'd have $6.30 by now.

I didn't watch the episode, but looking over the clue and knowing what the correct answer is, I don't think I would have gotten it either.TenPoundHammer wrote:Getting back to FJ!, how did everyone but me know to guess Nessie? Even my mom got this one right, and her track record's worse than mine.
