Faulkner for Steinbeck. Costa Rica for the complement to Belize.

On "iota" I was a little slow and the contestant got it before I could get to it. On the "Cats" clue I was thinking "Cats" but wasn't confident enough and I stayed clam.

Newton.
It's always Hemingway, except when it's not.
Project Runway, which actually did change one of its locations for the 4th season (but not there, and the wrong year, though).
Belize and Costa Rica. I mean, it's not called Costas Ricas.

Newton, Hemingway, 30 Rock, and... two of Costa Rica, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

I had a decent sense of where Belize was, but the rest of Central America west of Panama wasn't so good. I guessed Costa Rica for no real reason, but after the fact I came up with, "Well, if it bordered two oceans, it would be 'Costas Ricas,' right?"

I did pick Costa Rica because of that.

Wednesday was an extremely frustrating miss. The Grapes of Wrath and East of Eden even briefly came to mind, but I couldn't mentally switch gears and pull the right name. BAH.

Brain said "Mistoffelees! Cats! Cats!!", mouth said "C-C-C-C-C-ermegrmmmblmm". Oh well.

Horrible FJ week for me. Steinbeck was an instaget, but that was it for my week. Figured Monday was either Newton or Halley, and went with Newton because of his well-known obsession with the Bible and mysticism. Knew El Salvador on Friday but not Belize. No idea on Santiago or Mad Men - I'm still ticked off at AMC for canceling "Rubicon" after one great season.

The low percentages of correct responses for Halley, Mad Men and Belize/Guatemala assuage my chagrin. I only batted .200 on FJ's this week.

Contestants on the show went 5/15 this week on Final Jeopardy...2/11 without Cindy. This just further proves how impressive her run has been.

Stunned at how many 0-fers there were this past week. Is that some kind of record?

Newton, the Apprentice, Chile & Peru (didn't RTFQ closely enough, didn't cotton to there being so many other possibly-correct answers if it was really South America they were asking about).
