I had never heard that bit of trivia about the Jeopardy theme. But I got the question right anyway, without looking at the 50/50. The Tonight Show theme was written by Paul Anka. Bonanza just sounds too upbeat for a lullaby and Merv's kids would have been too old for lullabies by the time the Love Boat set sail.

I knew that it was originally called/based off of "Time for Tony", so that was easy for me.Bamaman wrote:Spoiler

Good lord. My inner Trek fan is weeping in between bouts of incoherent screaming.
Is that the crappiest week they've ever had in terms of winnings? Because that's a pretty pitiful showing.

There is a reason they failed the first time. There is a reason they failed the second chance. Meanwhile, reruns are that godawful (I'm being mild, this is not the word I really want to use) Bachelor 'Favorites' week. There are not words strong enough to express the contempt and loathing I have for that gimmick. Also meanwhile, I am just not interesting enough to get on this game show. I'll never get on a game show.

Re: Millionaire 2016-17 Season Discussion [SPOILERS]
From the Wednesday, Feb. 8 episode. It's Bachelor Fan Favorite Week and J.P. & Ashley Rosenbaum played this question:
Lifeline used:
They had previously used the +1 and had the 50:50 remaining.
Correct answer and what happened:
Because they were playing for charity they left with $10,000 as the minimum.
That was my kind of question since I had no doubt about which three shows were real and which one did not belong. Well done by the audience to have The Brady Brides as the lowest choice in the audience poll.
Spoiler

Re: Millionaire 2016-17 Season Discussion [SPOILERS]
Spoiler
I actually watched Trial by Jury, and...ugh the Brady Brides. Christ. Since I was 100% sure that there was no Buffy the Zombie Slayer, I could stare at Gilligan's Planet wondering wtf it could possibly have been, without worrying if it was the right answer. Google and a quick trip to Youtube reveals that it was a (terrible) Saturday morning cartoon, which makes a lot more sense than anything I was imagining. I'm not surprised by the result, trading in vampire slaying for zombies certainly sounds more plausible than Gilligan in space.

Re: Millionaire 2016-17 Season Discussion [SPOILERS]
Spoiler
I saw L&O:TBJ. Sadly, it didn't last long after Jerry Orbach's death. I also remember the cartoon from my childhood and the Brady wedding, so this was an easy one for me. This question was funny after the Gilligan TS in the game today.

I thought the [SPOILERS] tag on this thread meant there would be Millionaire spoilers. Could spoilers for other shows be tagged as needed?

Bamaman's comment is about the 2/9 ep. of J!, but fortunately it's only about a minor clue and does not give away the correct response, so very minor foul if any at all considering the circumstances.dinghammer wrote:I thought the [SPOILERS] tag on this thread meant there would be Millionaire spoilers. I thought about if I should post that or not and tried to make it as non-spoilerly as possible.

Re: Millionaire 2016-17 Season Discussion [SPOILERS]
Amusingly, the question he skipped (which simply required knowing what the prefix nano meant, very commonly used in science) was probably the easiest and quickest one.
