After toiling in the basement, I look forward to finally trying out D Rundle (and getting my butt whomped on a daily basis).

Re: Learned League 72 - Official Thread
I'm half excited/half cringing at my debut in an A rundle. My trivia brain has slowly been atrophying over the past year and a half while I have been training to become a licensed Senior Reactor Operator. The final written exam coincides with opening day of LL72. After that, I will drink heavily from the trivia waters once again. However, I fear that I am set up for a slaughter in Horizon A this season.

In LL71 I finished 2nd in E Continental, so I'm assuming I'll be back in D this season. In LL70 I had a horrible season that I don't wish to repeat, so I'm hoping I'll do better now that those of us in the dhkendall branch will now be in the Prarie league.

Are other people seeing the LL72 rundle assignments already? I'm still seeing the LL71 assignments.

You can pretty much work them out based on where you finished last season. The official rankings will probably go up Friday or Saturday. Registration doesn't close until the 16th.Cat Hammarskjold wrote:Are other people seeing the LL72 rundle assignments already? I'm still seeing the LL71 assignments.

I have a few friends who did that (it's what I did in the Navy, but never felt like continuing it in the civilian world) and I know what goes in to it, so good luck!jjwaymee wrote:while I have been training to become a licensed Senior Reactor Operator.

Re: Learned League 72 - Official Thread
There are a number of people in my league who don't play every season, so while I know that I'm going to be in A Badlands, I don't know who has decided to not show up. I'm hoping there will be enough no-shows so that I can play Jenny Ryan from The Chase and Beth Webster from Eggheads, who would both be in B Badlands if everyone showed up but likely among the first who would be moved up.MinnesotaMyron wrote:You can pretty much work them out based on where you finished last season. I'm going to be in one of the Magnolia E rundles after being relegated from D, where, if nothing else, my defense will keep me in the running. Assorted goals:
Easy:
-raise my average TCA (currently 48.67; the past 3 seasons I've been at 48, 50, and 51)
-finish over .500 on the season in theatre and American history
Medium:
-finish in the top 10 of my E rundle
-get at least one question right in all of the following categories: TV, film, food/drink, literature
-don't finish last in my private rundle (I have somehow managed to do this every season so far, I don't know how)
-finish over .500 on the season in pop music and games/sport
Hard:
-land on the Sandra leaderboard (I've done this twice, but it takes some luck)
-get a 9(6) (seventh time's the charm?)
-be an all-star in the midseason classic
-finish over .500 on the season in geography and world history

I'm a rookie, and judging by my "performance" when I go through old games, I'll be squarely at the bottom when it all shakes out. I guess this is good practice for me.
Now swimming in the J! pool.

This will be my rookie season, I've been waiting for this for months. Very excited. My only goal is avoiding placement into E, to be honest. It'll be interesting to see what my best and worst categories will be; I predict a top 3 of Math, Geography??, and Literature??? though I've got no real idea. Bottom 3 will probably be Pop Music, Film, and maybe like Bus/Econ.

If you are not already playing in a private rundle, please join the Boardie rundle! It's lots of fun and requires no additional work besides assigning a second set of defense each match day. Note that you must be at least a Premier Member ($50/year) to join a private rundle.

Finally got to be able to renew my membership and I joined the jboard rundle mentioned ^. So if you want to find a private rundle that you're guaranteed not to come last place in (unless you're me in which case you've already started picking out wallpaper for last place) the Rundle in the Jungle is the place for you!

It's good to have a goal, but don't worry about it too much. If you are unlucky enough to be in a killer rookie class, it would be hard not to be in E.rpg wrote:This will be my rookie season, I've been waiting for this for months. Very excited. This is your season to get to know the question style, how the game works, etc.
My goals are always to not get relegated and to improve my TCA.

A shameless plugin - my Bulgaria 1DS is tomorrow, and all of you guys should participate! I tried to make it fun (although maybe not as fun as the Condoms 1DS that is tomorrow...), but I also tried to make it a 1DS where everyone will learn something new. If you do end up taking it and have feedback for me (good or bad), I would love to hear it

Nice quiz. I'm a rookie, so I couldn't play it for real, but I got 5/12. I'm preparing to be humbled in my first LL outing.BulgarianBeast wrote:A shameless plugin - my Bulgaria 1DS is tomorrow, and all of you guys should participate!
