John is a Gospel book, no?
Shoulda gone with Corinthians.

There are also three epistles of John, though given the exclusion of the gospels, I'm not surprised people avoided them.morbeedo wrote:John is a Gospel book, no?

Isn't that part of the "think different" idea, to try to guess what others will avoid?given the exclusion of the gospels, I'm not surprised people avoided them.

I'm going to nitpick and point out that The Bahamas are not part of the Caribbean. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_C ... rchipelago
After further review I've found several resources that do list The Bahamas as a Caribbean country. http://www.worldatlas.com/webimage/coun ... ymbols.htm
Disregard this comment. Thank you.

NB In question A, I wrote "Inaugural address", which I found out later to be wrong: he actually used the phrase "return to normalcy" in an earlier campaign speech.
In question G, the answer is obviously not a person (I substituted this question for one about Mary Pickford.)
In question J, again, the correct answer is an institution named for two people and not two persons.

Re: TD 332: From my Bookshelf: Q1-Q10 results
Bonus 1 Although there are ten questions, there are only eight authors: two authors have two books on the list. For a -1 score, name one of these two authors.
Sinclair Lewis wrote both Main Street and Elmer Gantry
Kurt Vonnegut, Jr wrote both The Sirens of Titan and Breakfast of Champions
If you answered either Lewis or Vonnegut, you got a -1. All of the following entries did:

Bonus 2 Just as there are eight authors, there are also eight Ivy League Universities (even though oBBne uses the name "College"), not coincidentally. The books and authors were chosen (or in the current vernacular, carefully curated) so that each author attended one of the Ivy League schools. By "attended", I do not mean that the author necessarily graduated or attended the undergraduate college; one of the authors may have attended the Yale School of Divinity or the Princeton School of Law(that's a joke, son). For a possible -8 off your score, match the author to the Ivy League school he attended. No penalty for guessing incorrectly. The more you know, the lower your score.
"Middlesex" by Jeffrey Eugenides/ Brown
"Breakfast of Champions" and "The Sirens of Titan" by Kurt Vonnegut Jr/ Cornell
"Main Street" and "Elmer Gantry" by Sinclair Lewis/ Yale
"Pirate Latitudes" by Michael Crichton/ Harvard
"The Moviegoer" by Walker Percy/ Columbia (School of Medicine)
"The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald/ Princeton
"Primary Colors" by Anonymous aka Joe Klein/ Penn
"Oh, the Places You'll Go!" by Dr Seuss aka Theodore Geisel/ Dartmouth College
I'll be entering the final bonus results and final standings tomorrow, so please PM me if you have any concerns/questions. Thanks for playing!

I just randomly WAGged author/college combos, so congrats to anyone who scored well on that bonus. I'd be shocked if I got more than one right just by dumb luck.

Re: TD 332: From my Bookshelf: Final Results!
I hope everyone enjoyed playing. I realize that the second bonus was less meta "You have to know the author and where they went to college!" and more PITA "I have to know the author AND where they went to college?!" In retrospect, some of the authors were less popular than I thought and "Pirate Latitudes" (Michael Crichton's book) obviously was no "Jurassic Park".

Re: TD 332: From my Bookshelf: Final Results!
Thanks for the game, Linda, and congratulations to JGamer!
As I said in my entry "I won't even attempt the second bonus to waste my time in guessing or your time in scoring, and I will accept my finish in the bottom quartile." So, I'm happy to be tied for first place in the bottom quartile!

Thanks for hosting, lindap.
I really enjoyed this TD, despite my last place finish. Thank goodness I got some bonus points, so I didn't have to be there by myself.
