12 LETTERS OR MORE: You may have less polite names, but it's the proper term for a person who sells goods or services by phone
The writers know me well as otherwise I would have gone with
M-O-T
or
found enough letters to make S-C-U...qualify for the category.
It can happen to any player in any game, but ouch on Annie losing the title on that kind of FJ! clue that had success doubly to her left in addition of millions across the country who will end the week on a good note.
Hope Stevie Nicks is not watching today.

I would not have played those Daily Doubles in Double Jeopardy the way that our challengers elected to today.

Since it's Saint Patrick's day today, they should have done all the DDs (and FJ!) about famous Scotsmen, instead of just 3 of 4.OntarioQuizzer wrote:I would not have played those Daily Doubles in Double Jeopardy the way that our challengers elected to today.

I just checked, and the B.B. in B.B. King stands for "Bobby Burns", so it's 4 for 4. Well played, Jeopardy. Honestly, I've never heard MacGyver used as a verb, but once I thought of him, WECIB?

It seemed like Jessica was avoiding that last DD, at least thats the only reason I can think of for that clue selection order when down 10k.
Super-instaget FJ. Surprised it wasn't a triple get. Annie's wager...I guess she just wanted more money.

I-get. 43R. LT: #19 > RB Hayes; Ford Edge; Harry Percy > Hotspur; Mesozoic > Lit: "Middle period"; "winner take all" electoral votes; Faulkner, Medgar Evers > MS.
Did anyone else notice that Annie clearly and unequivocally stated " TOTALITARIAN-ISM" which is a 15-letter word, not 12, but not negged?! Add this to no BMS on 'Johnson' for LBJ and TPTB def slippin'!

The end of DD was close to watching a thriller... How to avoid a DD. However all those 400 clues helped Jessica avoid a lock.
Faulkner is TN? Okay. I was very impressed by the TDD.
The FJ category is a dreaded one for me, but somehow the right answer came to me. I might have been helped with watching half an episode of it in the last few months.

I guess she just didn't know much about FJ wagering strategy from the get go. I wonder if/when she found out she threw away close to $4,000 in her first game.xxaaaxx wrote:Annie's wager...I guess she just wanted more money.

Re: Friday, March 10, 2017 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]
Annie bet correctly on her DD, and Adam and Jessica bet poorly on theirs. It nearly cost Jessica the game, and if Adam had gotten his simple DD, the DD bet would have ended up costing him a game.
Of course, I have no idea why Annie overbet the amount she did on FJ. Oh well, it shows that even a contestant using a very simple heuristic still ends up betting far more optimally than most Jeopardy contestants do.
LT: Hayes, two pair, winner take all, Mesozoic Era, Wisconsin, Mississippi
FJ: Instaget of instagets. Was fully expecting all three contestants to get this, too.

Re: Friday, March 10, 2017 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]
I got Mississippi but not Mississippian which was needed for the correct answer.
I'm a little surprised nobody got the 19th President.
The Daily Double wager at the end was not a wager I would recommend.
5/5 on FJs this week for the first time since I started taking the poll on this board.
I didn't keep track of how many I got right but it might have been in the 35-40 range. Good game for me. Time to go listen to Stevie Nicks and look up the Wisconsin Recall (I guessed California - oops, wrong year).
