Re: Timing of Audition Invite Emails
This just came across the Twitter feed on auditions in Chicago:
http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertain ... story.html
Anyone know if people from MSP/Twin Cities were invited to this one? And if so, that I should relax my faint hopes of an in-person audition this year?

Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Oklahoma were represented at this particular session in Chicago (10 am,3/14). Keep hope alive, dude--always.

Re: Timing of Audition Invite Emails
I was at the last audition in Chicago yesterday at 2pm. Most of the people there seemed to be from the Chicago area. Perhaps this was by design, so anyone traveling for an earlier appointment suffering weather-related delays could be fit in at a later time.
Glenn was in charge, with support from Ryan and Patrick. There were 18 sharp, personable hopefuls, plus me. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. Several people had auditioned before, but there were also some who had taken the online test for the first time.

Re: Timing of Audition Invite Emails
As someone from RI, got her audition email for NYC a few hours ago today after success with the Central test. Not sure if I'm allowed to give more details, such as date, be it from their end, or that of this board, but I'd be happy to give out more info if so permitted.
I will say, though, not sure if this is new or not, but the location isn't being given out until I can confirm the date, which possibly conflicts with my work. This is different from my experiences with Wheel which give said location out before you RSVP with them.

Congratulations and good luck! I'd take NYC no matter where in the city they hold it. I'm north of Boston and still waiting, but maybe they'll keep going from NYC into Massachusetts, New Hampshire or Maine for auditions.Prizes wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2017 6:29 pm As someone from RI, got her audition email for NYC a few hours ago today after success with the Central test. I'm in NYC and there's nothing but radio silence on my end. Twitter is buzzing with invite excitement. I think I'll go stare at my cat.gsabc wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2017 7:18 pmCongratulations and good luck! I'd take NYC no matter where in the city they hold it. Re: Timing of Audition Invite Emails
I know the approximate value of it, but only because one response seemed kind of murky (the Iowa question), from independent research, this board, and ultimately what my friends and I checked post-test. It was either a 41 or 42, my best of the three tests. Although, if I recall correctly, all would have passed but less so on the other two.triviawayne wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2017 7:08 pm Great!!

Thanks, you three! Just got to make sure all can be worked out and to study up appropriately to make sure I cover my weak points. My goal is to go so nose deep into books it'd put Pinocchio to shame, plus work on buzzer timing. Very thankful I have some good folks who want to help me prep with some study sessions, interview bits, etc.

You've passed the test, don't go crazy studying yet. Concentrate on your interview and five stories.Prizes wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2017 8:14 pmI know the approximate value of it, but only because one response seemed kind of murky (the Iowa question), from independent research, this board, and ultimately what my friends and I checked post-test. Re: Timing of Audition Invite Emails
This is consistent with my experience with the Spring of 2015. I got a city & date but was not given the specific location in the city until I confirmed.Prizes wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2017 6:29 pm As someone from RI, got her audition email for NYC a few hours ago today after success with the Central test. They may have their travel plans, including hotel. They may even know they will be holding auditions in that same hotel. They probably don't have confirmation on the specific room.
OTOH, they may only want to tell those that confirm they will be there.

This seems the most likely. They make a to-do about bringing the emailed information with you. I expect they want to prevent hopefuls showing up who weren't invited.triviawayne wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2017 10:35 pmOTOH, they may only want to tell those that confirm they will be there.
Just an anecdote: at the first audition I went to, some people in the hotel hallway heard we were auditioning for the show and asked if they could try out too. They didn't know about the online test or the selection process at all - just thought it would be fun. If the time and place of an upcoming audition were announced publicly, this kind of thing would probably happen much more often than they'd like.

Blows my mind when people say they've auditioned a bunch of times for Jeopardy! I've been trying for years with 40+ test scores and can't break through to the audition.

My husband got an email saying he was invited to audition in NYC today. I took the same test and got roughly the same score (41/42ish) and have gotten radio silence. I auditioned in 2013 and never got called. He auditioned in 2013 and never got called. Jeopardy is my lifelong dream and I really do hope that maybe there will be a second wave of emails? Maybe? Please?

As for you, there's good news and bad news. The bad news is that not everyone who does well on the test gets an audition invite, there's far too many passers than audition slots, so they have to essentially draw randomly from the passers to get invites. (Although it would probably be easier logistically to draw husband and wife, but that's impossible to tell). The good news is I'm thinking for a large city like NYC there could very ell be a second wave. IANAPTB but I wouldn't completely give up hope.

Re: Timing of Audition Invite Emails
Fingers crossed for Boston since I haven't heard anything about NYC. Although my upper 30's the last couple of times isn't exactly stellar, but the one time I got 40 didn't get me anywhere, either.
