Should have gotten Friday's both from this site and the news - I know I read about it, the right response may even have flitted through my head, and then disappeared again...
"Terra firma," short clues often get by me in the time before the player responds, but surely that's a buzzer contest $1000 clue...
Zenda's a familiar title as movie and book, not that I ever saw or read....

Taft; no guess; Sweden

No guess on the Bill O'Reilly book clue. Killing made sense in hindsight.
I knew it was something like "Zenda" but wasn't sure enough to ring in and I thought I was getting it mixed with The Legend of Zelda.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

At last, a 3/5 week after five straight 2/5's. I'm 90-for-150 on the season, so they've been getting harder.
Hoping for a third lap

Guessed Warren Burger for the Monday FJ and went with Morocco for yesterday's FJ (making me the sole African country guess as of this reply). But nabbed 'Killing' and Zenda.

Wow, when's the last time we had a FJ with a 96% "get" rate? I said Jordan for the monarch clue, so I guess that's neither Asian, European nor African.

I haven't posted in a poll thread all season but decided to do so this week. In Friday's game thread, I said I'd swept the week and asked Mark to be kind to me on the extras since I had never gone 8/8.

I'm not sure how he did it, but he picked three I got right, even though I did not comment on any of them in the game threads. I'm not sure how to count the bottom two. I did say in the thread I clammed on Killing. For the other, I only know of two books starting with "The Prisoner of" and Trebekistan doesn't end in -da.

I saw your request to be kind, so I picked three clues the contestants had right and that I expected would be over 85% in the poll to increase your odds of success. To handle the Killing and Zenda requests I placed them a little differently than the usual three extra slots.

Congrats on your first 8/8 and thank you for all of the games you have input in the the Archive. You've earned your week of smileys across the board.

I would classify Jordan as Asia, so you are welcome to vote again to up the tally for that continent if you so please.

Thanks for including my poll request, Mark!

I see there are a lot more people who have read (or at least aware of) Ruritanian romance than I thought.

Stupid movie tone trivia spoiled another perfecta!

Spent a lotta time in Siam. Never met the King but I did have the privilege of waiting in Suvarnabhumi terminal while all traffic was held for his private jet departure. A forgettable experience that ranks up there with waiting for a space-A ride at Andrews AFB and watch HGW Bush board AF-1. So many departures...
The corridors of my mind are plastered with 3M Post-It notes!
