And speaking of the White House, Trump has pardoned (Former) Sheriff Joe (Arpaio) of Maricopa County

Sheriff Joe is also the only reason I know of Maricopa County (Phoenix) in the first place...
Maricopa is also one of the hottest places in the country I believe.
My son considered going to college there and went out for a visit. A few days in Phoenix in June convinced him it wasn't a place he wanted to spend the next four years of his life.
My dad's brother recently visited the US with his family for the first time ever. Part of their trip was a visit to the good ol' Grand Canyon. As we were descending onto the runway at Sky Harbor my cousin began complaining about how it was getting hotter and hotter.
I hope that they had a good time at the Grand Canyon nonetheless. Even the South Rim is at high enough elevation that the heat should be partly abated. That being said, only the hardy should brave a descent into the canyon very far in summertime. Phantom Ranch in summertime can be brutally hot.

Those protected by DACA--undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children--are referred to as "Dreamers". The term "Dreamers" comes from the proposed DREAM (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors) Act, which would have offered legal status in return for attending college or joining the military. Congress never passed the DREAM Act.

I was wondering about that, but never bothered to look it up. Thanks for the extra info.

The Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye by David Lagercrantz the 5th book in the Millennium series begun by Steig Larsson.

HBO series The Deuce by David Simon & George Pelecanos who did The Wire. James Franco & Maggie Gyllenhaal are the stars in the show about New York City's Times Square area in the early 1970s with drugs, mob, hookers and the porn industry.

The name "The Deuce" comes from a nickname for (copied from Wikipedia) 42nd Street (Manhattan) between Seventh Avenue and Eighth Avenue.

Okay, they probably won't ask about him on J!, but he's a public enough figure that it feels right to post about this here.

Len Wein, creator of Wolverine and Swamp Thing, and general comic book titan (and husband of fellow 2010 ToC alum Christine Valada) has died.

No, I met him when I went to Christine's QF viewing at their home, and at a few WQC quizzes over the years.
