Was I the only one that got it from the quote (however, confirmed it with the math)? Nineteen Eighty-Four is one of my favourite books, and I remember that passage stuck with me a bit, as I found it odd that he wasn't exactly sure of his age, but it made sense in the dystopia he lived in (as I'm sure all traces of his pre-life were removed.)

What did Austin say about why he wouldn't name his bike "Alex Tre-bike?" Something about it being an insult to an "August Man?"
I'm sorry to Chris, but guessing FDR for who died last, are you serious? He died just months after the famous photo of the 3 (alive) men sitting together was taken.
Lach Trash: "Split," Irony, Sable

oh-gust, rather than awe-guest
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

FWIW, I didn't think anything about the snipe(d) response ruling in real time. The phrasing of the clue seems arbitrary and the degree of difficulty is not changed. From the response here, I guess accepting the wrong tense is unusual. It seems chippy to fail it, but they are chippy about other responses. It's no more correct than forgetting the silly "what is..." pretend interrogative.disillusioned wrote: ↑Wed Oct 11, 2017 2:29 amMore haunted by missing a few that mattered earlier. Would've been haunted if I got it right and Austin got it wrong and it came down to "snipe" vs. "sniped," though!twelvefootboy wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2017 10:06 pm Chris - I was pulling for you buddy! Great bet on your DD. I get that you cratered on the FJ, I hope it doesn't haunt you.
I still don't think Austin is the next Ken Jensen
Thanks for being a great sport and you just got in the wrong place at the wrong time. When I said you "cratered", I meant that the body language (and the zero bet) made it obvious you weren't bringing your A game for the FJ response. Why not relax and live in the moment at that time .

Easy FJ. Not much to say about the game except I loved the Lindblad category as I took their expedition to Antarctica & that was an incredible month in my life! One can get sick of penguins but I miss them now! I'm hoping to take their expedition to Svalbard next summer.

People in England may say something like oh-gust but there's only one pronunciation in the dictionary - ôˈɡəstWoof wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2017 1:09 pmSame here. I'd say that's more like what Kirk wrote.

We got to see 8 species of penguins. Emperors had already left so none of them.

Probably. I just noticed his avatar is wearing invisible clothes. Odd I didn't notice them before.
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

Oh, the IRONY! (Srsly, a TS?)
Blurted out ring-tailed COATI, which is a real animal, just not a primate
How do the writers come up with Black Swan and this 1984 puzzler for FJ?
