Meanwhile, in a plague that might actually end up in history books, it is still not confirmed whether or not a strain of bubonic plague has successfully been confined to Madagascar, or whether it crossed over to Tanzania and could possibly ravage mainland Africa.

The last piece of Magritte's "The Enchanted Pose" has been found
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-belg ... SKBN1DE25V

Some time after painting 'The Enchanted Pose', Magritte cut up the canvas and painted over the top to make four smaller paintings. Modern tech helped researchers find the painting underneath, so basically they just solved a four piece x-ray jigsaw puzzle scavenger hunt.

Will it be called the World Cup NIT?

Robert Mugabe, who has been president/virtual dictator of Zimbabwe since 1987 and before that, Prime Minister from 1980-87, was apparently deposed by the Zimbabwean military in a bloodless coup.

Why was he unpopular? He made everyone in the country a trillionaire.

Actually $450m
And possibly not even a Leonardo...

MLB awards:
AL RotY (poster's privilege, don't care!) - Aaron Judge, Yankees.
NL RotY - Cody Bellinger, Dodgers
Both unanimous.

AL Cy Young - Corey Kluber, Indians, 2nd. (Sale was robbed.)
NL Cy Young - Max Scherzer, Nationals, 3rd total, 2nd consecutive.

AL MVP - Jose Altuve, Astros. Judge was 2nd. (Trout, 4th!)
NL MVP - Giancarlo Stanton, Marlins. Lead all players with 59 HRs.

Judge is probably the only one they'll ask by name, but it'd be good to recognize Bellinger's on the Dodgers (CA bias)

Cause J! asks about these things:

Serena Williams (duh) marries Alexis Ohanian (Reddit cofounder) in New Orleans.
To maybe help remember, Serena's daughter (born ~3 months ago) is named Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.

The daughter is a Jr. named after her father. That's unusual.

And it's a different middle name, so you don't even really need the Jr.

I don't know if this will ever come up on Jeopardy! or in Learned League, but this week in sports:

Martin Truex Jr. won his first NASCAR Cup Series championship after winning the race at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Nov. 19; that same race was the final one of Dale Earnhardt, Jr.'s career.

Earlier this week, Danica Patrick announced that she will retire from racing after the 2018 Indy 500. Her only win in IndyCar or NASCAR was at an IndyCar race in Japan in 2008.

Mattel announced its first hijab-wearing Barbie, modeled after fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad, who was the first U.S. athlete to compete in the Olympics (in Rio 2016) while wearing the hijab -- and also the first to win a medal, a bronze in Team Sabre.

Belgian-born weightlifter Naim Suleymanoglu of Turkey, known as Pocket Hercules, died at the age of 50. He won 3 Olympic gold medals and 7 world championships.

So far the J! writers have kept it simple with Rowling or Hogwarts. Anyway the sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be out in about a year's time. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

Eddie Redmayne: Newt Scamander
Johnny Depp: Gellert Grindelwald
Jude Law: Albus Dumbledore
Zoë Kravitz: Leta Lestrange

He was the stepson of his mother on the show - Shirley Jones. His half-brother Shaun Cassidy was a heartthrob about 5 years later on the tv show The Hardy Boys.

Good one and I enjoyed the surprising long list of credits at the bottom:

I had to check there when the article you linked dare not mention Lost in Space and I had no idea how much the thing got around.

Unlikely to ever be asked, but ... UCF becomes the first team in college football history to go from a winless regular season one year to an unbeaten one the next.
