Got thrown off by the wording "type of thought" in the Inquisition question, immediately thinking of "heretical thought" and clamming due to the letter overage.
Eminem = Detroit.
German geography is a wheelhouse and "Double Talk" could only lead to Baden-Baden.
Lady Byng = hockey.
Greek goddess abduction = Persephone.
Lying in court = perjury.
Bonus: South Africa + weapon = spear, the favored weapon of the Zulu.
I would prefer not to.

Heresy was the only right answer. Except for spear, which I didn't mistake for a sword.

4/6 and then a clam on the sword one.
Forgetting the category is a common mistake for me that causes a clam. I actually answered Baden-Baden in response to the earlier FJ clue that asked for Bremen.

So, TPH, now that you've got 87 responses to your poll, a statistically valid sample in my eyes, what did you learn? Do you feel that any of those questions was undervalued? Persephone is the only one with less than a 66% get rate, but is a $400 clue (and 54% isn't tragic)

Shoot, I just realized now the last clue was a check if wrong. Reading fail...
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

The problem is that those who missed all six (and didn't name a sword as the pointed weapon in SA's coat of arms) are prevented from voting. Only one person has reported being affected by that, but there might be lurkers we don't know about.

That's not the takeaway, Bobby. What you should have learned from this is what we frequently tell you -- your perspective on what is hard and what isn't hard is very skewed. You will frequently complain that there was no way to get a clue, but everyone else is telling you how easy it was for them. Just admit to yourself that you don't know something (nothing to be ashamed of there), and let it pass without arguing with people that they shouldn't have been able to get it or that it was misvalued (which does happen, but nowhere near as frequently as you claim it happens).

You proved otherwise on Wheel. You just don't have as good an aptitude for Jeopardy. But there's no shame in that. The people here have a much higher aptitude for Jeopardy than an overwhelming percentage of the population. All we ask is that you realize that, and keep that in mind when you post on here.

My guess is that most people here go out of their way to know the kind of information which comes up on J! - studying common topics, looking up the Archive to see themes among the questions, participating in other quizzes, LL and so on. That makes a huge difference in their ability to get the correct responses. If you're more of a casual viewer who isn't putting that effort into increasing your J!-related knowledge and retention of it, then of course you're not going to know a lot of stuff that many people here do.

Nope. You are just swimming in a deep pond. You frequently run categories or go 4/5. Stop ten people at the mall and ask them a whole category and you will be lucky to find 5 right of 50. I had my echo at work and except for music or tv categories everybody is amazed I usually get 4/6 or 5/6 in J6.

Oh, and I clammed or missed the same set THIS week. Next week will be someone else's turn. Or not. Thanks for the poll.
