Another signature for Randy with style:

He only fell 73 shy of the number KJ had to create in regular play. Randy did get a plug in for Bleu de Chanel with Alex’s permission.
It was a rough game for the players with a combined Coryat of 15,200 not helped by Krishna up to 4600 after DD2 and down to minus 4200 after the DJ! round.

The tables were turned on Randy today who missed the FJ! clue after having a narrow lead when he won yesterday from a slim trailing position on a sole get.

The FJ! clue was a get for me as I picked the right ocean and from there I knew which province to write.
This happened to me playing the J!6 clues:

I just checked my wallet and Wilson is on the $100,000 bill.

Tough game for Krishna.

I was hoping Mick Jagger would come up in the singers category.

I didn't think it would be one on the east coast (and I'm not very certain of where all the Maritimes are) so that left me with only one guess.

After our lengthy discussion the other day of Vancouver, I hope TPH got this one correct.

Jen held back $20 on FJ when Randy's MSBIW was $199, costing her a win if she gets it wrong as well. A math error or just a big random number?

I picked the wrong ocean. That's gonna sting for a while.

Krishna never recovered after he responded incorrectly on an easy DD.

I was close on FJ!, saying Vancouver instead of BC.

I was expecting Krishna to get a reversal on "croupier" if it mattered.
Never been on J!, but once won a knockoff version that aired on local access TV.

I kept hoping Krishna would claw back in; he was certainly a quiet Ying to Randy's enthusiastic Yang.

Speaking of Randy, I guess he had one of those moments? Because that had to be one of the easiest Canada clues ever - name this province on the Pacific coast.

I picked British Columbia, simply because I wouldn't know which province to guess for the Atlantic.

Started with British Columbia, then considered the east coast, but which of the three or four provinces that border the Atlantic came first? BC seemed like the safe choice.

Marbury + Madison rings no bells whatsoever for me.

You're in Dutch Now was a total YEKIOYD. "Trommelar" doesn't sound remotely like "drummer" to me.

Also saw no way to figure out Lady Gaga in Singers for $400. Lots of female singes can be called "flamboyant".

Exhaustion from work made me totally derp this one. I forgot which ocean was which, and had no idea which direction Canada would have expanded in. And even then, I couldn't picture which territory was on which end of Canada. My mental map had Yukon and BC merged on the west, and something random and murky on the east. I spent the whole commercial break and FJ! music failing to piece together the map, leaving me without a guess at the last note.

Coryat: 39,000
48 R/0 W
DD: 3/3
FJ:
LT: Hartford, John Marshall, Grover Cleveland (DD), Salmon P. Chase, Argentina and Chile, Cenozoic Era, probability, The Age of Innocence, War and Peace (DD), uncle, Billy Corgan, Fats Domino

If you recognize that Canada, like the U.S., expanded westwardly, this FJ! becomes pretty easy. With apologies to Randy, I have to say it's hard to make a worse guess than Saskatchewan.

I loved that Krishna went TDD early. He ended up flaming out spectacularly, but at least he fought against the dying of the light.

WHAT'S YOUR SPIRIT ANIMAL $400
It's the canine name for this refreshing cocktail: vodka & grapefruit juice

Anyone have a problem with my crediting salty dog for greyhound? The only difference between the two is that the former has a salted rim, and I don't see anything in the clue that disqualifies my response.

tiwonge is making a reference joke. You'd have to check the last few pages of the TPH Education thread to get it.

I don't know booze, so I was pretty happy to get three of them. Tequila Mockingbird is one of those creative-the-first-time-you-hear-it-but-overused pub quiz names. Grasshopper also names a mint and chocolate ice cream. (Or maybe it's named that because of the alcohol? I don't know, but that's what I know it from.) And a regional chip company put out a Moscow Mule flavor. I tried it a while back, and googled it to see what it referred to. I guessed Hair of the Dog for the canine one. I don't drink, so I had never heard of any of the ones I missed.

what happened to the contestants? Yesterday was well-played, but there was enough trash today to score a lock win.
Hartford, John Marshall, Grove Cleveland DD, Salmon Chase, Chile/Argentina, Cenozoic, probability, War & Peace DD, Perseus, uncle, pride, Billy Corgan on the rebound, Fats Domino.
Had to go with the Pacific on FJ.
Judges: Circle of Life for Circle of Being?
I never read War & Peace either, but WECIB. Also, if a novel is referred to as a tome, it's pretty much either War & Peace or Atlas Shrugged.

 I know! Even Alberta--the only other landlocked province--feels like it would've been SLIGHTLY better,
