Mon - (blank) Kept racking my brain til the end of allotted time
Fri - Executive order. Inexcusable mistake on my part, I should've read more of the clue than just the "2-word" part.

Had Die Valkure on Wed and was pretty sure...WECIB? Sure, I associate horses with the Lone Ranger, and I associate the Lone Ranger with William Tell, but I don't associate horses with William Tell... I suppose the poll will show the clue the easiest of the week...
That last one...my mother raised me better!

Vauxhall Cross; no answer.

I considered Chicago but two Oscars is a pretty light haul for a Best Picture so I continued on west.

On the show, I might have been tempted to do something with my middle finger, but not at home.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

Grand Hotel only got one. Heck, it was only -nominated- for one.

I figured out Fargo in about a day. My ultimately successful path was to try to think of every city in every state.
I'm smart and I want respect.

No guess Monday. Joan Rivers Thursday, though I was pretty sure she died more recently. Didn't know that Chaplin movie existed.

Got Fargo, but after time expired. Knew it was Nora Ephron, but simply couldn't pull her name out of the vortex. Dented my forehead when Alex gave her name.

Gold Rush, cloture, Cuckoo's Nest were all pretty instant.
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

Only got Globe Theater. I said "recess appointment" for Friday, not realizing that it was about signing bills. Said Joan Rivers on Women Writers.

I feel like Fargo had just enough information for it to be gettable, but not quite enough to reach the average for FJ gettability. I got The Globe once my dad used the word "replica" in his out-loud brainstorming.
