My wife and I are super excited to be heading to NYC in a couple of weeks. . . and resisting the urge to shout it from the rooftops.
Don't suppress that exuberance! Work it, Pointer, work it!

Thanks, squarekara! I would, but my wife is taking a couple of days away from her work to accompany me, and because she would not get leave she must use 'sick time'. So we have to keep our out-of-country trip very quiet, at least until after we get back home. It's not easy to keep it in. Please don't tell anyone. :?

Ahhhh. . .so, you're accompanying her as she seeks alternative therapy for an unspecified condition. Gotcha. Here's hoping the experience is richly rewarding for you both!

Has anyone received a confirmation for the Cleveland audition? I replied to the email and have not heard anything back yet.
I'm in the if anything can go wrong mindset, it probably has.
Thanks.

My husband heard back the next day about his session in St. Louis, so definitely let them know asap that you're still waiting.

Well if I believed in weather gods I would definitely have a persecution complex today. Yesterday as I was about to depart from St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, (YYT) for my audition this afternoon in New York City, my flight was cancelled due to a freak wind and rain storm. Winds of 70 mph and torrential rains. I was forced to postpone my earlier audition in April because of medical specialist appointments. Any of you superstitious folks think this 'means something good'? I hope so. And I hope the good folks at J! will give me a third shot. Fingers crossed!

The freaky weather has been in the national news, so they should understand how people have been affected. If you can be flexible about upcoming audition dates and locations, let 'em know. Hope everything works out!

How long have you lived in St. John's? The weather there is freaky if it ISN'T 70mph winds and rain or snow and fog! My graduate student was supposed to fly back from St. John's for a defense a couple of years ago and her flight was cancelled for 3 straight days due to fog.

Best of luck - and I hope your audition comes soon!

Thanks, squarekara! I've contacted them but haven't heard back yet. I'm very optimistic.

I've lived just outside St. John's for just about all of my life - so far. Fog has always been a factor, but a couple of years ago YYT installed a state-of-the-art system to overcome that. Unfortunately, it doesn't help with 100 kph winds and horizontal rain like we had yesterday. It certainly plays havoc with international flight schedules. I'm so glad we purchased cancellation insurance.
Thank you for the good wishes.
