The players were good enough for a 55R game and I was right there with them for stumped at FURNITURE $600: Simply, it’s an open-topped box that’s pulled out from a piece of furniture

All I could think of was trundle as in the bed and laughed at the duh moment of it being a drawer.

Ha that is a funny mistake. Okay, changed "color" to "orange." Thank you.seaborgium wrote: ↑Fri Jun 01, 2018 11:46 pmI'm going to give you a BMS on COLORS for $100.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Fri Jun 01, 2018 1:55 pm I added S12 1/26/96: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=5991
I caught a good one from the S18 game I did earlier this week: Rita Hayworth was married to this man for much of the 1940s & starred in his film "The Lady from Shanghai"
Before I caught the typo I had "many."

If you go a few posts up, you’ll see he set a goal for himself of 20 games this month. Right now he is at three. Should we tar and feather him if he only gets to 19?
Not sure where to suggest you find people with Season 1 games.

JJ Todor's first game from 2-17-1998
Even though the game is already in the archive, what's interesting is they popped the dollar amounts in DJ! Was it the last time they did this?

The last time the DJ! round's money values were seen popping up was February 27, 1998, in both these weeks, runners-up received a Sears gift certificate, I'm not sure why but the 1998 ToC was taped at a later time frame but when GSN aired them, they always been airing them in the airing order instead of rerunning the ToC after these 2 weeks with the runners-up getting the Sears gift certificate.bigblue999 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 05, 2018 12:14 am JJ Todor's first game from 2-17-1998

Interesting. The "Square" Deal $300 clue was written incorrectly, and the incorrect response was accepted.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Tue Jun 05, 2018 2:35 pm I added 3/27/89: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=5997

Re: New old games in the J! Archive
They were looking for and accepted "What is square-ing off". Clearly the response was just transcribed incorrectly.alietr wrote: ↑Tue Jun 05, 2018 3:37 pmInteresting. Re: New old games in the J! Archive
Good point and good comeback. They were enough to make me cue up the tape again just to make sure. Nope, squaring off was accepted with Alex adding nothing and the game moving along. Judging may have been a little looser back then, but that would be a tough one to neg as the possibility of "square-ing off" looks good to me even if I won't change the Archiving for it.opusthepenguin wrote: ↑Tue Jun 05, 2018 4:01 pmThey were looking for and accepted "What is square-ing off". I knew the rare pace of 17 clues in the first segment and no mistakes would not hold and sure enough things got off the rails later.

Re: New old games in the J! Archive
Having far too much crossword experience, the correct wording of the clue should have been "Go face-to-face" in order to elicit the proper tense in the response. I don't blame Dale for responding as he did. Opus, however, should be write-ing a lot better than that.

Re: New old games in the J! Archive
I remember a few summers ago there was a similar thing, only the incorrect correct response was a song title. I can't remember any exact details beyond that, but I know I posted about it in this thread.alietr wrote: ↑Tue Jun 05, 2018 3:37 pmInteresting. [rhythmic The Music Man voice] BUT IT DOESN'T FIT THE CATEGORY
edit: found it! Oddly, though, I couldn't find the game being referenced, but that should be easy to find with Google or the Archive's search function.
edit again: And that's found too.seaborgium wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2013 6:01 pm Error by the writers in SONGS THAT "COME" & "GO": "Something's Coming" has neither string!

Re: New old games in the J! Archive
Mark, you put this episode as 3/27/89 but the one you just put in was from Show #600, aired on March 27 in your area or on March 20, 1987 according to Trevor Panno(aka animfan), but the episode is the same though. When this was rerun and I'm sure Daniel(kingskip) should know that this episode followed WOF which was into the April 1985 territory and the coming up next bumpers began displaying the episode's descriptions during the episodes the viewers were seeing.

Re: New old games in the J! Archive
1987 is the year. I'll change the year I listed above thanks. As for March 20 vs. 27 it's one of those things with different markets not on the same page.Ivoryface86 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 05, 2018 5:40 pm Mark, you put this episode as 3/27/89 but the one you just put in was from Show #600, aired on March 27 in your area or on March 20, 1987 according to Trevor Panno(aka animfan), but the episode is the same though. I have added S4 3/7/88: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=5999
The game id is 5999, so the next one in the Archive will be a biggie.
