I wonder if it's sort of like when Google and Topeka, Kansas "switched names".

Golden State Warriors sweep the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-0 to win the NBA championship. It's their second title in a row, and third in four consecutive trips to the NBA Finals, all against the Cavs. Kevin Durant was named Finals MVP for the second straight year.

Justify is also the second horse (the first was Seattle Slew) to win the Triple Crown while still undefeated.

In other news, I bet $10 on Vino Rosso at the local OTB parlor. First wager of any kind--including lottery tickets--I made all year.

Tony Awards:
The Band's Visit, about an Egyptian military band's accidental trip to a small Israeli village, wins 10 Tonys, including Best Musical, Best Actor (Tony Shalhoub) and Best Actress (Katrina Lenk).

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child picks up Best Play along with 5 other Tonys, with Angels in America nabbing Best Revival of a Play, Best Lead Actor (Andrew Garfield) and Featured [i.e. Supporting] Actor (Nathan Lane). Once on This Island got Best Revival of a Musical.

Mean Girls and The Spongebob Squarepants Musical, lead nomination getters with 12 apiece, earned one award between them, for Scenic Design for Spongebob.

One of the songs in that musical is titled "Omar Sharif." Omar Sharif's real last name was Chalhoub. (Unfortunately, Tony Shalhoub didn't sing it; it was a solo for Lenk's character, although my understanding is that his character is present when it's sung.)

My bet is on "Breakfast."
My bet is on “this is a stunt for a new promotional item, the name is not really changing, and everyone is a mark for taking it seriously.”
It’s the “International House of Burgers,” as the chain attempts to increase lunch and dinner traffic.

I should have written that down a week ago, placed it in a sealed envelope, and opened it when IHOP made an official announcement. I saw it coming right away.

It was the number they did on the Tony Awards. You could see one reason he won the award in Shalhoub's soulful reaction to her singing. In fact, his role as the bandleader has very little singing. People are saying it's the least "vocal" role for a winner since Thomas Mitchell (he of It's a Wonderful Life and so much else) won in 1953 for a non-singing role in a musical called Hazel Flagg.
Unfortunately Tony Shalhoub has already left the cast of The Band's Visit.

Willie Brown was never actually elected. He just started running the place. It took people a while to catch on and by then there wasn't much they could do about it. Fun fact. Not a lot of people know this.

Beyonce and Jay-Z released a new album, their first joint work, Everything is Love
The video for 'Apeshit' was filmed in the Louvre.
It's a Tidal exclusive, so I suppose this is how Tidal plans to stay in operation...
